Priest Holmes.

Holmes was built and performed like the quintessential RB; I fail to see how this ties-in to an under-built, under-achieving Jamal Charles.

Seriously?

Charles is ripped, much the same as Priest, and is faster.

No one knew how good Priest was until he came to KC, and when he was signed, most were pissed that we didn't sign Charlie Garner.

God this is gay, but Holmes had running back hips and legs that you could use as an illustration for perfection if you were writing the definitive book on the position.

Charles is fast and dangerous in space, but until he can break through a line and safeties with any kind of regularity, I'm not ready to annoint him just yet.

Believe it or not, there are two more directions on a football field besides east and west.:p

I'm sorry, I'm just looked at a pic of Holmes when he was at Texas, and his build is eerily similar to Charles. Tell me which is Charles and which is Priest?

That aside, the thing that made Priest what he was was his vision and patience, qualities that I saw from Charles when he was at Texas.

I'm not saying that Charles can play at a level close to Holmes, I am saying however, he has the tools to do that.

Uh, neither.

As I think about it, there are quite a number of similarities between Priest and Charles, Mr. milkman. Hasn't he been working out with Holmes this off-season? Seems like I read that somewhere.

Anyway, Priest was a surprise to everybody. Including, probably, himself to some degree. He had the benefit of a tremendous offensive line and a great fullback during his peak years with us. What Priest accomplished was even more impressive considering his unremarkable entry into the NFL. If Charles can accomplish half of what Priest did, he would have had a good career.

The bottom line for me, right now, is that he's a player who wants to play and play well for the Chiefs. That, in and of itself, is refreshing after all this Waters, Gonzo, LJ crap we've been hearing for so long.

Priest Holmes, #33; U of T.

LMAO

LJ's worth a 6th rounder this year, tops.

Next year, he'll be 31 years old. The Chiefs would be lucky to get a sixer of PBR for him.

That being said, their builds are still similar, but Charles was also a track star at Texas, so he conditioned his body for both track and football.

It will be interesting to see how his body changes now that he is conditioning solely for football, and as I said earlier, all that aside, it's vision and patience that made Priest what he was, and Charles showed those qualities at Texas.

very refreshing indeed! I like his attitude & maybe it will rub off onto the rest of the team and show heart.

He needs to put some meat on those legs. As of last year, Flowers has more muscle on his upper legs. In fact, Flowers has the stoutest legs I believe I've seen on a CB.

I agree, he does, but that still doesn't change the fact that Charles has a very similar build, and I would venture to guess, strongly, that the 10 lbs (roughly) he has put on this offseason involves much of the lower half of his body.

I highly doubt, however, that he'll ever have the same power in his legs that Priest had, but as I said, he is faster, and once he gets into the second level, he will be much more difficult to catch than Priest was.

In some ways I see strong similarities, in others, a great difference.
