If he had gone right on to Washington and won it, or pulled it off in SD, I'd probably agree with you. As it is, I just feel bad for the guy a little. Sucks to be famous for being a failure, despite obvious skill. Posnanski talked about a time when, after one of the Chiefs playoff meltdowns, he asked the guys in the press room to turn off their recorders. Poz admitted he was paraphrasing, but he said Marty essentially asked, "What am I doing wrong?" Sorry, I just feel bad for him.

Add to that how much the guy cared for his players and the Chiefs franchise. Hell, I don't know if I've EVER seen a grown man cry as hard and as openly as Marty did at DT's HoF induction.
