The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding until two years of age and beyond.

If the mother and child are still comfortable with it, then what's the problem? You recognized the benefits of it.

Hell, i couldnt imagine the shit i would get from my friends growing up. As it was, i took alot of shit in the 80's from my mom pulling my ear in front of my friends when i went out to play when i wasnt supposed too. lol I hear it TIL This day and im 35. haha

In the article, the mom says she breast-fed from her own mom until she was six. Her dad was some kind of nutritional scientist and encouraged it.

And she has a web site: http://iamnotthebabysitter.com

Damn right!

While poundin' Mom from behind you could slap her on the ass and yell "WHO'S YOUR DADDY?" and then for good measure slap the kid on the ass and yell "AND WHO'S YOUR DADDY?"...

If the kid is old enough to talk, it comes off the tit. I don't care how "nutritious" it's supposed to be. It's just psychologically freaky. I think it has more to do with mothers who don't know how to let go. (Or maybe they just really get off on having their nipple sucked. In which case, get out of the way, kid, daddy can take over from here...)

Because its creepy.

My son began reading at 4 so he was speaking well at 3.

My son was off the bottle at 1. Most kids are off the bottle at 2

Why the hell would you continue to let them feed on a tit at 4?

Deberg_1990 05-11-2012 06:46 AM

I saw a story a few years back about some mom who was stil breastfeeding her 7 year old kid. Crazy.

My wife nursed our first, but she was off the booby at around 13-14 months.

Have they done any studies about how/if this screws up a kid mentally when it comes to independence?

I can just see a study coming out: 90% of kids that breastfeed past 4 years of age live in parents basement until 30.

If the kid is old enough to verbally ask for it or walk up and grab it, he/she is entirely too old.

Had a friend that his girlfriend breast fed until their daughter was like 3/4 years old.....always a WTF moment when the daughter asked "Mom, I want some milk" and the tit came out.

I guess I'm in the minority. I don't understand what's creepy about feeding your child. The picture is shocking because you don't see it often (or at all), and was shot in such a manner to put it out there front and center. It's no coincidence they chose a shot of the woman breastfeeding a standing child.

And why should the mother have to go to a bathroom or private place to give her child nutrition? There's nothing obscene about it. I'd venture to guess most people on this board were breastfed. And if it's nutritionally sound and the parents/child are comfortable with it, what's the big deal if the kid is 3 or 4?

It's not creepy, it's been the standard for human development for thousands of years, and still is in most places not called America. It's the best food possible for children, so why should they not? I see no reason to use speaking as a determination for appropriate weaning time, other than you wanting to use it.

That chicks pretty hot but not as hot as the Afghan chick who had half her face melted off.
