Guess I should clarify. I meant not trying in the team & Haley's approach. You remember those. Team wasn't prepared. Hailey didn't care. Basically took the preseason off. Playcalls were about as vanilla as it could get.

In no way did I mean that "not trying" in Stanzi if some took it that way.

Overall based on the improvement that I saw in game #3 of his young career, I saw potential. I'll leave it as that.

QB's with playbooks...

Newton
Locker
Gabbert
Ponder

QB's drafted about an hour before stay granted...

Dalton
Kaepernick

In a society with technology the way it is prior to the stay being granted, I am assuming they were sent a copy of the playbook by some method.

QB's drafted after the stay...

Mallett
Stanzi
Yates

Mallett and Stanzi don't see the field. Mallett dressed for 1 game, Stanzi not many more. Yates playing was pretty flukish.

So do you see where it may have been significant that 10% or so did get a playbook?

Nope. It's grasping at straws.

Ok then.

Was there a rule that prevented one member of a team from copying and giving a playbook to another member?

Who knows, but how would they even monitor that if there were such a rule?

That doesn't even make sense.

I see the Chiefs fans have found there "Ron Paul" if you will. A 5th round pick with no flaws.

I was simply pointing out most of those 3rd stringers and backups Stanzi was playing against didn't get their playbooks until the begining of camp some even joined camp late.

I really don't know on that nj. But for some reason it didn't appear to have happened... because many players did not get a playbook until the whole ordeal was over, so I assume there must have been something some sort of penalty involved in that sort of thing happening. And I don't recall if many rookies were allowed at the player controlled workouts or not. If so, you would have thought they would have had some sort of access to a playbook.

I think playbooks are handed in at the end of the season.

BTW I see post like "all the draft experts loved Stanzi before the draft". That's not exactly true either.

The playbook excuse is being used to say that Stanzi looks like he has something to prove, and that the Chiefs should do a more thorough job investigating what he has than they did last offseason. Especially considering valuable snaps for him are being wasted on Matt Crappel.

I mean, it is what it is. It's an excuse. A good excuse, considering he played for a coach that ran ZERO up-tempo practices that cycled through the playbook until the night before the first preseason game. But still an excuse.

And yes, that extra week matters. The Bucs and Ravens were basically playing with one whole extra week of training camp out of the only 2 or 3 they could have possibly had at that point. And then you face those teams off against the Chiefs? Our offensive line had no ****ing clue what was going on, and it showed. And then you put Stanzi, who was equally unprepared behind those guys who have no ****ing clue what's going on, and presto! Shit sandwich!

Some players and some vets got their playbooks during the small stay.

God! glad we drafted o-line depth.

Okie_Apparition 05-11-2012 01:41 PM

Quinn & Stanzi have the tools
all they have to do to beat out Cassel is not make alot of mistakes
shame on them if they don't
