Ruined a chance for our pitcher to get a no-hitter by calling an error a hit. Still a chance for a reversal, I guess.

It wouldn't be a successful thread without Laz bitching.

I'm confused by this. How do you ruin a no-hitter by not giving a hit?

EDIT: N/m, read it wrong.

Still its not the umps that make that call.

I was wondering about the Hos antagonism in that thread.

Our pitcher hadn't allowed a hit yet, but a player on the other team reached first base on a play that was determined to be a hit, thus ruining our pitcher's chance at a no-hitter. The first baseman essentially dropped the ball when the runner was a full step an a half away from the bag, so it should have been scored an error instead.

If Hosmer is given an error, the hitter doesn't reach base with a hit.

Nope, the antagonism earlier in the thread was due instead to him striking out on a predictable pitch with the bases loaded and two outs.

I read it wrong. But it's still not the umps call.

And yet, here we are, talking about baseball and Ricky Stanzi.

In fact, this thread, about Ricky Stanzi, was started by you.
