It's the right call, but a dumb rule. Must maintain possession all the way through the catch to the ground.

He wasn't going to the ground, though. He caught the ball, took two steps and then was tackled.

To me that rule doesn't apply because he brought the ball to his body, took 2 steps, and got popped. He wasn't going to the ground during the catch.

nope

making a football move BEFORE you go to the ground negates that except for in the endzone

BryanBusby 09-10-2012 05:47 PM

But we have to remember these refs are morons and the league has left it to the referees to determine what is a "football move"

correct

Strongside 09-10-2012 05:47 PM

Dalton is trying to kill his WR's.

tecumseh 09-10-2012 05:48 PM

Speaking of FFB, I didn't start Matt Ryan because i didn't want to Jinx the Chiefs. Started Cam Newton instead. 0-1.

I gotta work, too. Punch in @kickoff. I'll be pissed if anybody does the spoiler thing before I get to the DVR. My biggest disappointment is that CP will be deprived of play-by-play demonstration of my brilliant football acumen here in the ****OFICIAL**** game thread. Sorry, guyz... please forgive....

I'd have to watch it again to make sure, but I thought he caught the ball, got a foot down, then took a single step and got hit.

I don't recall there being two full steps resulting in a "football move."

Could be wrong, not willing to rewind and watch again.

Highly, highly disappointed. You're going to likely miss a couple River-faces

Tucking the ball into your body while running is though.

R8RFAN 09-10-2012 05:51 PM

Buck can that LT handle the pressure?

Getting a foot down doesn't equal a step.

IIRC, he jumped for the ball, got one foot down, THEN took a step, got hit, and went down.

That's the biggest question mark. The Chargers coaching staff and his teammates are giving him high-praise. Obviously, the media really isn't buying it.

Is Seymour playing?
