Not in the least.

I would absolutely be trolling baseball fans if I made a thread inviting other people fans to share how much I dislike the sport.

It is ok that you troll soccer fans...no biggie...it just makes your whole "I hate how soccer fans interacted with me" schtick fall on its face.

Mostly because a tie is never at all a tie to the fans and teams that come away from it.

:spock: Uh, I'm almost scared that an explanation would send me into despair...

If the University of Missouri would have tied the University of Alabama last weekend in college football. If ties could happen in college football.

Would both of those teams come away thinking oh well...sort of lost...sort of won...gotta do better.

Absolutely not. It would be a win for Missouri. They got in the way and got partial credit in the ongoing progression of their season.
Alabama would feel like it was a complete loss. They couldn't secure a win against a team that was flailing like Missouri.

That does not even take into account the nature of the game.

3 points for a win...1 point for a tie...0 points for a loss.

Actually, yes. Obviously fans were going to chime in with their two cents but, the thread was not for them, it was for the other soccer haters. The soccer fans chose to participate in that thread. I chose NOT to participate in their thread.

There most certainly is a difference.

Where I said death was wished upon me in that anti-soccer thread.

Your rationalization falls as short as you crying about how soccer fans treated you. This is pretty fantastic. The situation was everything you said it wasn't...you even admitted to "poking the bear" when I predicted it was probably the case. I didn't even have to see the specific situation.

Moral victories don't do anything for me.

Ties suck more balls than a gay couple on holiday in San Fransico.

It isn't a moral victory. It is an outcome that effects the results.

Anyone who told you that you didn't understand soccer was right. You are showing you have a basic lack of understanding of the game.

A tie earns much needed points that account for your place in the standings.

No team or fans of any team ever walk away from a tie without the impression that one team did its job and another didn't.

I guess me putting "poking the bear" between a pair of quotation marks didn't convey the proper tone of those words. Damned written language.

Damn Jamie playing the victim card to a group of soccer fans. Poor troll got troll'd in his own thread. ROFL

The great soccer debate between Zach and Jamie has ended. It was amazing but it still ended in a tie. Zach is ecstatic. Jamie hates soccer even more.

No, I understand it, I just do not agree with the way it works. If neither team wins then neither team deserves points.

It is a fundamental difference in our thinking that we just will not agree on.

Not everyone understands things on the surface. It is ok if you are not up to the task and have to stoop to homosexual banter.

You are still a decent guy. If you were here I would give a high five. Not everyone can discuss facts. It is tough.
