Perhaps Del Rio has a nutsack, and Pioli is threatened by this.

Reid did look burned out, but Andy Reid needs to coach to stay busy. It's his lifeblood. I think Andy Reid is overrated as a coach, but I still think he is a good coach. Having watched him all 14 years here, Jim Johnson definitely helped him a lot. That said, McNabb was a franchise QB at one point, and when he went downhill, so did the offense. Vick had a great stretch in 2010, but after that was poor. A ton of turnovers and poor drafting.

If there is one thing I hated most about the Andy Reid era in Philadelphia, it was the arrogance that came along with it. The entire organization from top to bottom were a bunch of "we know more than you so shut up" type of people. You will see something that is so obvious when watching the games and they will look you in the eye and tell you differently. Like linebackers aren't that important, or their effort "was good if you look at the numbers" even when everyone watching the game could tell it was a bad effort.

That said, Joe Banner had a lot to do with the arrogance and he is gone.

If you do get Andy Reid, and you guys are big press conference people, be prepared to start hating them. He's the worst press conference coach ever, and when his players adapt his attitude, you will get no emotion from anyone after games.

Probably vice versa.

I think a hard core disciplinarian is needs for this young group, someone who will not allow them to quit like they did this year in so many games

Fox is the head coach in name only. The real head coach is Peyton Manning.

I guarantee you Andy Reid will make you a better football team. Unfortunately, I'm not sure he is the guy that gets you over the hump. Consistent problems plague him. Terrible time management, terrible uses of timeouts, coaches tight in playoff games and it rubs off on the players. Watching the Detroit Tigers this year and Jim Leyland reminded me of Andy Reid. He just looked tense in the dugout.

Also, he will annoy you with the same stock responses to every question. But he is a good coach, and he will probably groom you a good QB somewhere along the line.

I want to see Andy Reid in a big football town like KC, and not some terrible football town like Jacksonville.

You go to a 4-3, you need to find 2 outside backers. Finding 3-4 run stuffing DE's is easier than finding 2 linebackers.

That's all good, but the Dorsey angle deserves a second look. Tamba was a good LDE and Putting Dorsey and Poe at the DT spots could prove to be a good line if Houston could man the RDE spot and I think he could. His first step is sick and he hasn't really been able to rush as much as he should in his 2 years in KC. Putting him at RDE could be setting him loose.

Berry played pretty good down the stretch and hopefully that's a sign the knee and his transition from college are coming along nicely...Flowers is a stud. The secondary can probably get repaired by drafting a good corner and signing a vet safety.

I agree we would need a couple linebackers, but those aren't as hard to find as hey used to be. Could probably sign one and draft another in the third round (we should get another 3rd Asa comp for Carr, too)

I agree though, the best way to turn things around would be to run an aggressive 3-4 with these guys because when we ave, we have flashed a dominant defense.

3 DCs in 4 years

just like the 4 OCs in 4 years.

It's awful GMing/hiring/demoting anyway you look at it. Bunch of Pats tree nonsense and there is no valid argument that any of it is good for business

pioli didn't hire Clancy. Haley did.

Not just that, but Clancy WASN'T HIRED TO BE THE DC...HE WAS HIRED TO BE A POSITION COACH. They even said when they hired him that they were still looking for a DC. Remember that they didn't name what position each coach would even coach at first? I do. It was because they got started so late after hiring Haley prior to the Super Bowl.

It later came out that Romeo was gonna take the year off and only then did they name Clancy as the DC. He was fired after one year when Romeo was done getting paid by the browns and wanted the job.

Seems you forgot. Pioli didn't hire Gibbs as a DC, either.

Will Farell as our coach could make us a better team. We are at rock bottom.

lol at you thinking Haley hired anybody or had a say in the roster

funny joke that is. it all runs through Pioli, no matter how you try to spin it.

All hired, fired, promoted, demoted by Pioli.

RustShack 12-30-2012 11:29 PM

Smith as his McNabb and Charles as his better version of Westbrook. Could be interesting.

Clancy was the DC in Arizona...no connection to the tree that I'm aware of.

Cannibal 12-30-2012 11:37 PM

I'd pass on Reid.

Me too, a never was if you ask me. I would have loved Fisher, but almost everybody here blindly hates him.
