That would officially rid us of the stench that is Marty forever...

If Marty had of known the difference between playing to win and playing not to lose in the playoffs things would have been different. He was really aggressive in the regular season but turned into Herman Edwards in the playoffs.

Would I be completely satisfied if they got that close without ever winning it all? Of course I wouldn't. Nobody would.

But will I be extremely happy if Andy Reid is able to establish a program that has sustained success over a long period of time, presumably with plenty of thrills along the way, even if Reid never manages to hoist the Lombardi Trophy over his head?

Hell yes.

Clark Hunt has recognized what a monumental mistake Pioli was. He's blowing up the entire organization and turning it over to a proven winner. Anyone who isn't ecstatic about the changes that are taking place right now is a freaking idiot.

I'm sure there will be bumps along the way, and I'm sure every now and then Andy Reid will make a decision that is sharply criticized by everyone (including me). But at least Clark Hunt is doing the right thing and pointing the Chiefs in the right direction. For the first time in years I actually have some optimism about this team. This is the BEST Chiefs' coaching hire since Marty Schottenheimer. And despite what any Schottenheimer-bashers may think, that was a GREAT coaching hire.

I mean, the expectation is that a competitive team MIGHT win a SB at some point, but the fact of the matter is I'm entertained as long as the team looks good and is competitive in every game.

Exactly this.....

I would say you need a public poll, but this is giving us an honest outlook on the fanbase's opinion.

I am greatly disappointed.

Just being in the SB?

**** yeah I'd be happy...

Kind of what I was thinking.

No. I have no desire to see the guy come here and repeat his success from Philadelphia. The idea is we progress and get better in our careers as we go. And I don't want to be a 50 year old Chiefs fan that has NEVER seen a Super Bowl victory. I don't care if the guy wins 6 playoff games in 14 years as long as 1 of them is a Super Bowl win. I'd rather win it next year, and watch him stumble for the 13 afterwards than just make the dance every year. I was ready for Carl Peterson to go for that very reason. This franchise, this town, this fan base deserves to know what winning it all feels like. Only it's oldest fan elders can relate those feelings, and 14 years from now there may not be any of those left...

I'm not ok with just making the dance every year.

But if he makes it to a Super Bowl - even if they lose it - I'm in.

I'm not saying he should be the HC again. The one thing he could do that we seem to have had a problem with is Marty could read talent and usually drafted guys that were keepers. He might make a decent GM, especially with Hunt saying that the HC will not answer to the GM.
