I'm talking about yet another example of how Pioli ignored the advice of his scouts and his head coach.

And yet, the coaches and scouts still get blamed for Pioli's stupidity. I'm not saying Haley was a great coach. But it goes without saying that if he was allowed to coach with a healthy Jamaal Charles with Kaepernick at QB, 2011 could have looked a hell of a lot different.

Why do people assume Pioli forced Baldwin on Haley? Seems as much of a Haley type pick as a Pioli pick.

Regardless of whether he was crazy.

He was right about the QB.
He was right about being pissed off about Pioli forcing the 2-gap 3-4 on him.
And he is one of a whole league of coaches who believed Pioli was insufferable to work with.

I dont' care if he was crazy. I care about if he could have won games. For as much as CP bitches and moans about the QB situation, we sure as hell undermine how big a deal it is when the coach is forced to use a QB he doesn't want.

Because jasonsauto said Haley wanted Kaepernick, and I trust him.
And it was well known that Bellichick thought very highly of Baldwin.
And you do know that Pioli had a track record for being an absolute nazi about making all personnel decisions, right? Even when other people didn't want those players.

Well shit, maybe he shouldn't have taken the job then.

Mother****erJones 05-16-2013 06:37 PM

****!! I loved Kaep coming out and wanted to take him. I didn't mind the baldwin pick because we needed talent at WR but damn I wanted Kaep. I know hindsight is 20/20 but I really did want him in round 1.

Mother****erJones 05-16-2013 06:40 PM

Well since I'm in a pissed off mood, are there any other gut wrenching ***** inside info besides shit from last year? Like the whole room wanting Kaep but Pioli took Baldwin.

mcaj22 05-16-2013 06:42 PM

Phil Taylor was, and still should have been the pick

Baldwin can't be a biggger fail than Cassel. Sure, we took Baldwin over Kaepernick, but we took Baldwin BECAUSE OF CASSEL.

Cassel is the biggest dick sucking failure of all time.

Six touchdowns. 21 turnovers.

**** MATT CASSELL ALWAYS FOREVER

Basically.

He's the most embarrassing thing that's happened to this franchise ever.

EVER.

Nothing tops his fail.

**** my life....and we end up with the scraps (Alex Myth) for twice the price of what it would have taken to draft Kaepernick.

Again.

I don't know.

An interesting poll would be "which decisions was the worst?...Ryan Sims at 6? Tyson Jackson at 3? Dorsey at 5? Cassel at 36 (with a 63 million dollar contract)?
