I imagine that they will be salting the roads big time starting in a few days if the predictions stay as they are. Even if there wasn't a game they would do that but they will probably be even more aggressive because of the game with preparations before and active treatment during the storm. That being said I'm not sure if anything can be very effective with a half inch or more of ice.

I missed this thread when I was posting in the other Steelers thread. As mentioned, the only unsettling thing about it is that it's been in the forecast pretty steady for a couple weeks now. The weather nerds I follow on Twitter, etc, have all mentioned it bears watching.
It's still several days out though, so plenty of time for it to change. Or move north/south so that KC gets rain or snow instead of ice. Honestly you don't need 2 inches of ice to cause havoc though, it's impossible to drive on. Just get half an inch and you're finished. I do wonder though... say it's a worst case scenario ice storm and the whole city is shut down, power outages, etc... would they actually postpone a playoff game? |

I am from California and all this stuff is new to me. I live here now and I drive a 2003 Nissan X-terra 2 wheel drive. OR a 1972 VW camper van. I am thinking though the camper doesn't have a heater it might be the better option.
