Watch them draft some midget quarterback and claim as the next Doug Flutie.

Fish 01-17-2017 08:16 AM

Smith sucks.

MahiMike 01-17-2017 08:25 AM

Only way they sell tix this year is by drafting a QB in 1st round

I would have rolled my eyes at this post one year ago... :(

And this is considering his top wide receiver was a rookie and his best receiver (Maclin) was way off his game compared to 2015 (6 less TDs this year). But most significant was the lack of a run game this season, so for him to achieve all of the above despite an obvious step back in what was the strength of the offense in 2015 is a positive indication that his skills as a passer continues to improve. Sure the red zone % was awful, but it improved dramatically over the last third of the season.

1) Bring the run game back to being respectable
2) Continue to build chemistry with Tyreek in the offseason
3) Get Maclin back to 2015 form
4) Receivers need to improve catching ability (2nd worst in dropped passes this season)

This Offense will be one of the most efficient ones in 2017 and it's not as if there has to be radical changes. All the pieces are there.

Prediction: 28 TD's/ 10 INTs , 68% completion rate, 3800-4000 yards

LMAO

You are predicting that a 33 year old Smith is going to throw for more yards than he's ever thrown for in a season and going to have his highest TD total ever.

HemiEd 01-17-2017 08:42 AM

Odd. Our team keeps getting the same results from doing the same thing. Who would have thunk it? Who's next? Romo?

Mr. Plow 01-17-2017 08:42 AM

It is extremely hard to be a QB in this league that throws for only 15 TD's in an entire season. It takes a lot of talent to be that shitty.

Smith lead us down and tied the game only to have the official snatch it away. I agree with Andy. We still need to get a QBOTF on the roster but we'd be a fool to dump Smith without a real upgrade on the roster.

This sounds right.

Some people would rather go 2-14 with a rookie just on the slim hopes of him someday developing into an elite QB, though.

Andy was asked point blank if Smith is the QB next year and he evaded to answer. He didn't say yes so there is hope. Dorsey would be insane to bring back Smith.

Bullshit. Some of us know that Smith isn't taking this team anywhere and we've been down that road for 30+ years. We'd rather have the hope of a Super Bowl then knowing it's never coming.

I don't see any reason to rush this. I don't think Alex gives us a great chance at a super bowl. But he gives as an outside chance of one. I would only give him 1-2 years anyway and I'm guessing he does too, judging by his wife's comments. Groom a QB on the bench. There's no reason to rush it but there is a critical urgency to find a clear QBOTF. Not just giving a young QB a shot... finding a guy we believe can start for us for 10 years.

Andy will bring back Alex next year, but I hope we draft a QB early so they are ready to take over.

I can deal with Alex for 1 more year as long as we make that investment to transition to the next guy
