IF we sign Hollywood O-lineman is pretty likely to be the first round pick this year for the Chiefs yeah?

Might be regardless.

I don't know...you still need another WR, I could def. see them taking one at 32 or wherever they pick.

No, we're just giving one $15M per lol

Tyreek was a unicorn - give me the guys with size AND some speed. Don't have to be track stars.

I'd love to have size and speed guys. They get drafted really early though.

I mean, MVS' career yards per target is a full yard and a half better than Hollywood's.

It takes a LOT of targets for HB to reach his numbers.

He's not getting targeted 150 times in KC, folks.

Yard per target isn't necessarily a great stat for comparison without proper context, especially when someone like MVS has 70% of his 2023 targets last year past 9 yards, and Brown has only 50% of his 2023 targets last year past 9 yards. (Those are the actual regular season numbers) Of course he's going to have more yards per target when a higher proportion of his targets are deep balls because he's not on the field as often as Brown.

I don't like Brown, but I dislike intellectual dishonesty more.

Brown targets past 9 yards:
2023: 50%
2022:47.5%
2021: 38.9%

MVS targets past 9 yards:
2023: 70%
2022: 60.5%
2021: 59.2%

Hey man... my boy Tute was all over this shit yesterday. It's happening. :D

There's one out there I'll be curious to see what happens with today/tomorrow.

I don't think we're interested though.

If true, I applaud them for pushing all their chips in on the 3-peat. I am not a fan of Brown like many here, but I sure as hell am not going to question them if he's the guy they wanted. I really don't care what they're paying him, either, because the market is the market. If they want him and can use him in a crucial role, I'm glad they got him.

Still need some action at LT before the draft, though. Hopefully they just re-sign Smith and we go into the first day with no glaring holes and ready to load up for the 3-peat.

Who knows, don't care. But I don't have an issue with you posting it, he actually had a record of success unlike the 14 year old Honduran kid.

Still SMH on that one.

Entirely possible, hence why I labeled this as 1000% rumor.

I'm not at all convinced it's legit, I'm just convinced this guy actually knows somebody. He has a legit NFL source, regardless of the outcome here.

Agree.

Bart doesn’t want a repeat of last off season where are hands were tied with the jones situation and then couldn’t trade up in the draft to get what we needed.

Even if we land Brown. I expect them to do something at LT before the draft.

TomBarndtsTwin 03-13-2024 08:32 AM

Not super excited about this signing, if it happens, but I guess if the Chiefs think it's the best thing for our offense, then I'll trust them. They know a hell of a lot more than I do.

But if we were adding a veteran WR just to 'add a WR', I'd rather see someone on a one year low money deal with incentives. And then target our 'ideal' fit in the draft in the first couple of rounds.

Trust in Veach, though.

Again, did Sammy Watkins truly ever show that ability before we signed him?

Hollywood has a thousand yard season on his resume with Lamar. MVS has never cracked 700 with Rodgers and Mahomes as his QBs.

Nobody. Rest Kelce more because we would actually potentially have another receiving threat to take the pressure off.

pugsnotdrugs19 03-13-2024 08:34 AM

Where I think OTW and the one who shall not be named get this wrong is you're overly focused on the individual player rather than the impact the player's skill set has on the offense as a whole.

Based on 2023 alone, it's a skill set like Brown's that we missed the most. Is there even any arguing that? Seemed fairly obvious that the lack of a deep threat killed us all year long until Rice became really good and MVS didn't completely suck during playoff games.

That’s fine with me considering we aren’t paying our WR room anything right now. $30 million APY is the highest for WR’s so I’m good giving a mid level contract to a guy who is a mid level WR that fits the system.

I’m with you on drafting a bigger WR in the draft. Rice, Hollywood and an early rd rookie WR would be a major upgrade
