I think I'm just going to go pick up a pulled pork sandwich. Not as good as KC BBQ, but it'll do.

Just finished - Angel Hair Alfredo with grilled portobella, grilled asparagus and crumbled crisp bacon. From scratch [well, the angel hair was premade].

Rewarding myself for a good week of spring diet, down 5 pounds since last wednesday.

I'm sure this'll put some more back on, but I only had a 1/2 portion, and set the rest of the sauce aside for next week.

Frosty 03-23-2011 11:10 AM

Lunch!? It's only 10 o'clock. You guys sure eat early. :)

If I get hungry, lunch will be hamburger.

I love the cheap and on-every-corner pulled pork in the SEMO area.

One decent spot here in Jeff and you pay for it...

I've tried to cook bacon to use in other recipes, but I end up just eating the bacon as soon as it's done.

Oh, I indeed reserved a couple of strips for knoshing, but denying the allure of carbonara is akin to saying pairing bacon with mayo, lettuce and tomato on bread is a waste. Creamy, crispy, salty, carb loaded, dammit Brock, you're on the verge of making pull the rest of the sauce out of the fridge. :banghead::cuss:

For super-real. They go together amazingly well. It's soul food, I stand out like a sore thumb there but whatever the grub is great.

At least you have green trees, water and wide open spaces not filled with rock, rattle snakes and thorns. PHX has none of that.

Depends on the cook. Ive had the shitty stuff. And ive had stuff that was the best whiskey ever.

the best of the best to me tastes like a cross between 100% agave white tequila and top shelf irish whiskey. Goes down like soju.

the good stuff i covet. the shit is shit and other fools can have it. more of a novelty for most folks.

Like i was sayin i bought out a cock fighter out some years ago and he had a buddy show up with some. I bought it, got his #, called & called but the ****er never answered.
Id still be buyin off him if he would have sold to me.
****er.

I had a coworker who would get some great stuff. I can't remember if he made it himself or got it from a buddy.

Anyway, the taste and smoothness of it reminded me of Johnny Walker Blue (~$150/bottle). I like whiskey, but there are only a few that I actually enjoy when drinking straight. This shine was as good as any whiskey I've ever had.

Chicken salad we made last night on a yummy cibatta from costco.

Also, I had some birthday cake for some dude that I don't know's birthday.

I figured this was a good place to post some food pron.

I was in Colorado last weekend and indulged during two meals. The first was a stop at Real Crave Burger in Castle Rock, CO on Friday afternoon. They have all types of crazy burgers.

I went with the Texas: 6oz patty, beef brisket, bbq sauce, coleslaw, and onion strings. My side were the Philly fries.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7374/9...55e5c4bd_c.jpghttp://farm3.staticflickr.com/2858/9...82b683c2_c.jpg

My buddy went with the Luther: 6oz patty, bacon, cheddar, fried egg, onion with 2 glazed donuts instead of buns. His side were fried pickles.

http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3673/9...b68b5900_c.jpg

On Sunday before flying out of Denver we stopped at the Bagel Deli. This place has been featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and is a NY Jewish-style Deli. We shared an order of potato latkes and each ordered our own breakfast. I went with the Lox & Bagel-Dict: Everything bagel, cream cheese, lox, topped with 2 poached eggs & hollandaise sauce.
