What happened? Did you just jump on the Hali bandwagon???

I mentioned back after the first series that it looked like they were playing him just like they used to play DT in the Falcon spot. Hali was rushing from different spots along the line, sometimes he was set, others he was standing.

I can't even imagine having two hyperactive DEs rushing the QB - and both are young guys and will be around a long time. Hali and Allen could be a great tandem.

recxjake 08-26-2006 07:59 PM

Hicks is very angry right now.... he just lost job

Would someone describe the Hali sack for me? Did he blow by his man, was it a coverage sack, etc.? Did he force a fumble?

DaFace 08-26-2006 08:00 PM

Cool. Now if we can find someone with a crap ton of bandwidth to mirror it...

My video feed is rough, but looked like a speed sack, and a clean strip....

By the way bone crusher is in the house.

He just ran around the LT hit the QB, and stripped the ball on the way down. :D

he was standing... blew right by the LT... hit the Qb's arm and James Reed scooped it up

GoChiefs-

Highlights of this game, should the Chiefs win?

To me he looks like he has great speed, is agile. I guess the description of a guy who has an excellent first step. Seems to get good jumps on the play.

Hali lined up on the right side. Ran about 5 yards into the backfield, made a 90 degree turn after he was past the LT and went right to the QB. Qb held the ball behind him getting ready to throw it, and Hali swatted the ball. I wouldn't have called it a sack persay, because the QB never left his feet.

GoChiefs was correct, it looked just like what DT used to do.

Hammock Parties 08-26-2006 08:06 PM

It's "Temba, his arms wide."

"SHAKA, WHEN THE QB FELL."

Rain Man 08-26-2006 08:07 PM

Cool. Was it Pace or a backup at left tackle?

Oh...long fly ball to my area, but the left fielder caught it at the rail.

mikey23545 08-26-2006 08:09 PM

Grades:

A - Tamba Hali, Pollard, LJ, Green, Kennison (I think it's time for Carl to look at his contract), Croyle, Tynes

F - Hicks (I know he hasn't played, but he still gets an F), Cruz, all RTs...

jjjayb 08-26-2006 08:09 PM

Wow. When was the last time we held someone short of the 20 yard line on a kick-off. Heck, when was the last time we held someone short of the 30 on a kick off?

big nasty kcnut 08-26-2006 08:10 PM

Since there was forced fumble, then technically that's a sack.
