Agreed, but maybe Ned wanted Paredes to get his first AB. Like I give a ****

I guess. I'd still prefer the established MLB RH'er over the shitty minor league Lefty. Oh well.

It was sarcasm. But likely a post game comment Ned would make.

petegz28 04-30-2014 09:04 PM

WTf was that?

mr. tegu 04-30-2014 09:05 PM

Holland hasn't gotten as many swings and misses on that pitch. Is it possible he is showing it out of the glove a little too much?

GloryDayz 04-30-2014 09:08 PM

One more man!

mr. tegu 04-30-2014 09:10 PM

petegz28 04-30-2014 09:10 PM

nice...nice...good win

petegz28 04-30-2014 09:11 PM

Wow, the Jays left 12 on base tonight.....

stonedstooge 04-30-2014 09:11 PM

Pitching only giving up 2 was a miracle.

SPchief 04-30-2014 09:11 PM

I may be wrong, but I think the key is to score 4 runs

tk13 04-30-2014 09:12 PM

As long as we let our starters go 165 pitches every night, we're going to win this division.

siberian khatru 04-30-2014 09:12 PM

Why? I'd prefer the run to getting a guy an AB. Doesn't matter now though.

Ventura deserves the W.

I'd settle for 100 if the guy is on fire, but hey whatever

I hate using the dome excuse, but it pretty much applies here.

ChiTown 04-30-2014 09:18 PM

Guthrie v Buehrle tomorrow night......eh, at least we won the series:evil:

Yeah this is a bad matchup for him. But so was Baltimore in a hitters park and he did well.

stonedstooge 04-30-2014 09:29 PM

Maybe a little cooler tomorrow night. Keep balls in the park for Guthrie

Yeah, but Buerhle is miles ahead of the Baltimore pitchers.

Still very little power.

If Moose, Hosmer, Gordon and Butler all hit just 20, that should be enough to get near the playoffs with this pitching.

Seems like a reasonable enough goal............on paper.

Lawrie has the kind of range to turn that into an out. Francisco has the kind of range to turn it into a double unfortunately. LMAO

C3HIEF3S 04-30-2014 10:19 PM

Nice job tonight Ned

alnorth 04-30-2014 10:33 PM

Tied for the 1st wild card...

(and our easy month has come to an end)

keg in kc 04-30-2014 10:43 PM

I thought for sure they'd blow it in the 8th.

I swear, for as awful as most of this month felt on occasion, I'm pretty satisfied to see them with the record they have. Hopefully May 2014 isn't May 2013: Redux.

I'm not sure why, but we open as slight favorites tomorrow. I like betting small amounts of cash against the Royals in this situation. No matter how the game ends you are a winner.

Yeah, that's a bit of a concern. Starting Friday......

* 4 @ home vs the Tigers. Would be nice to split that series

* 7 Game Road trip with the Padres and M's - I see 3-4?

* 9 Game Home-stand with the Rox, Orioles and WSox - Those are series we have to take advantage of - 6-3

* 3 Game Trip to to Anaheim - 1-2

* 3 Games at Home v the 'Stros - need 3-0

* 4 Game trip to Toronto to finish the Month - 2-2

* That would be 17-13 in May

I think we lose tonight against Buehrle. That puts us at 14-13, and (given my above prognostication) 31-26 going into June. June's schedule looks murderous. By that time, I hope our pen has it's shit together, and Butler and Gordon have started to click with the bats. Here's hoping!

We should go at least 4-3 vs SD and SEA. Those are not good baseball teams.

C3HIEF3S 05-01-2014 08:04 AM

The stretch of June 2-11 isn't going to be easy.
2 @ Cards
2 vs Cards
4 vs Yankees
2 vs Cleveland

Unfortunately, September isn't looking too kind. Texas, New York, Detroit, Boston, Cleveland.

Absolutely true. In the end if we want to make the postseason, we're going to have to straight up beat good teams and good pitching.

Great Expectations 05-01-2014 10:37 AM

The Yanks have a -11 run differential. Seattle who is 11-15 has -5. The Padres and Indians are 3rd worst with -26. The Cards are at +14, we are +9 (3rd best in AL).
