Don't pretend Eli was a difference of Alex. Eli dropped back 60 times. There is usually the what ifs where 1 play could change the outcome. Eli's typical INT or 2 didn't happen. Because 1 was caught on the sideline out of bounds and 1 was 49ers slamming into each other both going for the catch. The strip fumble of Bradshaw was blown dead. |
This schedule fits us quite well actually. We have played well in the first half of the season under Andy. It's the 2nd half that we've had issues with.
Playing a lot of home games in the last 2 months should help turn that around this season. |

Our reasoning for being a little more optimistic about this chiefs team is perfectly reasonable-- Dorsey addressed large holes on this team. Saying that the only reason we have for predicting more success this year is "hope" is a ****ing worthless statement |
This isn't a team that stood pat, the biggest weakness on the team was the offensive line and that got a major renovation. It's not blind homerism to expect the team to take a step forward, and they finished 9-7, so a 10-11-12 win season really isn't crazy.

I know 1 thing that's starting to piss me off a little.
Reading about how Andy Reid is gonna continue to shuffle the OL to try and find the best 5 guys, through camp. Minicamp? Ok, I can see it. OTAs? This is when you should have your starting 5 pretty well set If they are going to expect the line to be improved, they BETTER set that starting 5 right away and let them work as a unit leading to the season opener. The OL isn't always about the best 5 guys, it's about how well they perform as a cohesive unit. If they think they can shuffle the line through camp and then just show up in Houston and block at a high level, it's gonna wreck the first few weeks of the season. We simply cannot afford that. |

The front 7s we face to start the year have very talented pass rushers that get paid millions to expose lines that aren't cohesive units. It takes more than just a couple quarters in a preseason game for the line to develop a bond. I feel the way they are shifting guys around to different positions and not setting the starting 5 and letting them gel is gonna hurt us in the first few games when we are gonna need to score points in bunches to win. |

Don't ****ing tell me that evidence shows that we are going to be better. Eric Kush is so ****ing good he couldn't replace McGlynn on the line. Jeff Allen has two craptastic seasons of play. Donald Stepenson's only consistency has been his incontistency. There's your ****ing evidence. |

They'll be a good team... unless they aren't. And there's no way to prove that the changes they've made are going to work out. Their only reason for predicted success is hope. The Patriots still have Brady and Gronk but lost some personnel in the offseason. There's no way to prove that they'll continue to be a good team. Their only reason for predicted success is hope. It's the same ****ing thing across the board with all teams. So all we can do is look at the improvements each team made. The Chiefs brought in a LOT of new personnel along the offensive line, which includes a mixture of veterans, a rookie, and last year's crew returning from injury. They lost ONE guy, and that makes you unwilling to say the Chiefs SHOULD improve in 2015 because it's just "hope" See what I mean? It's a worthless ****ing take on your part. I know you're usually proud to be the asshole on the board, but on this one you're taking on the role of the dumbass. Sorry. Happens to the best of us from time to time. |
Quote:
They brought in Grubbs and Fanaika. The rest are are all people that have failed as Chiefs to this point. And no, proven teams aren't ****ing hopeful. They are ****ing proven, you ****ing useless ****ing piece of shit dumb****. |

Oh, Alex Smith did what during that one game 4 years ago on a different team?
That changes everything. |

We have no proof that the Chiefs barring injury an improved team... except that it's basically the same ****ing team we had last year minus a grapefruit-sized tumor named McGlynn. And because you don't know about Kush, it's somehow "hopeful" that he won't be McGlynn when in reality there are FEW starting OL that ever play as shitty as he did? And I'm not talking about the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl or even winning a goddamn playoff game. I'm just talking about improving as a team. THAT'S ****ING IT. |

So if they don't do it during training camp and PS they are going to be doing it during the first few weeks of the season. How is that a good thing? It's not. It's going to set us back....weeks. You gotta find out who fits and plays the best, where, with the 1's, before the season starts...not after. |
Kush, Morse, Allen, Stephenson, Fanaika, etc.... You are going to have to shuffle these guys around before the season starts to find out which ones are worth a shit, and where.
Not stick them somewhere and hope they figure it out, while the guy who should be playing that spot has been running with the 2's. |
Quote:
You're taking the wait and see approach, which is really the only way to go for those units considering what we know... but a few of us are willing to bank on improvement from this coaching staff when they're given better depth and overall talent to work with. The argument basically boils down to... the talent on paper is there, does this coaching staff/overall team atmosphere have enough juice to make them quickly gel? My belief is yes, yes they do... so many things are RIGHT with this club these days that I have to believe... when you have the right leadership and momentum, weaker units will perform above expectation because a certain standard has been been set. No one thought denvers backs were any good, but the expectations and overall coaching/team helped them perform far beyond their talent level. |

Don't blame you. I don't miss it. I stopped coming here for a few reasons:
1. Switched my internet use from laptop to all mobile device. 2. Apathy for the chiefs hit an all-time high. 3. My frustration coming here outweighed my fun and I knew it was time. I still look in now and again but it's minutes per month instead hours. |

Things are tense everywhere these days, the team is still working on a formula, and I'm not sure 40+ years won't be 60+ years by the time a SB win happens to drunk-stumble into our trophy case.
So I hope the break isn't long-lived... |
