Yeah, no complaints about the espresso itself, and it's nice that it's so super easy to use. My only complaint is that it's a little pricey on a per-cup basis (generally $0.85-$1.00 depending on what you get). But compare that to $4-$5 at a coffee shop, and it's still a great deal.

They're Midwestern.

"Swill" covers them amply. Huber more than Pearl. Pearl was actually drinkable, if it was ice cold. Huber had a flavor kind of worse than liquid rusty steel wool.

I'm even more 'basic' when it comes to comes to coffee, reliable and omni-present. Just had my trusty Cuisinart gasp out on the heating element of all things, but it was 20 years old with daily DAILY use, so I got the new version as a replacement. Just happened across a great deal the day after mine went craps, . . . and all the accessories [pot, permanent filter, little charcoal water cleaner things] are the same.

I just did a bunch of remodeling since our villa turned 9 years ago, I guess about $18,000 worth in the past two months. In the kitchen I had bought a pro style faucet a dozen years ago on eBay because I got a great deal, $125 and I kept it all this time. I was going to do granite countertops but the budget couldn't afford it, and I found a sink that could support the faucet and keep my original counter tops. I got it at Home Depot for $399, it actually came with a pro-faucet, so I now I have an extra one which I'll keep and use for parts if I ever need them. It's 33" sink with no divider and you can do top mount or undermount.

https://scontent-mia3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...1c&oe=5FACD43A

We got rid of all the carpet and old flooring and had 6" wood planks installed, no more carpet anywhere, it's gets nasty after 9 years. For color we bought 4 area rugs from Amazon, they have great prices.

https://scontent-mia3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...d3&oe=5FAF25FC

https://scontent-mia3-2.xx.fbcdn.net...f7&oe=5FAC903F

The Master Bath we had this horrible fiberglass shower enclosure with a glass door that everytime you opened it water got all over the floor. Now we new tile floors, new light, new toilet, new vanity and new countertops and shower made with Bella Stone. It's a man-made product they make locally and it's looks like quartz. No shower door this time, just a curtain.

https://scontent-mia3-2.xx.fbcdn.net...5a&oe=5FAEF106

https://scontent-mia3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...f5&oe=5FABA338

I've drank enough beer to fill a water tower, but mostly it was shitty stuff like Busch and Budweiser, and I never actually liked it; I just drank to get drunk or drank because I was at a bar and that's what I did. Drank like a fish during my high school years and then went in the Navy.

At this point, I rarely drink any sort of alcohol, but when I do drink beer, it's usually a good German wheat beer, like Hacker Pschorr or Franziskaner. I don't mind Michelob, but regular Michelob is impossible to find in bars up here. I'll generally have one if I'm at a bar when I'm back in Missouri, which isn't very often.

I wouldn't drink Busch or Budweiser now if you paid me. And I hate light beer. If I want water, I'll drink water.

I’ve become a coffee snob. It kind of ruined my life. Like I can’t drink coffee from a restaurant or free shit from Deere or whatever. And I’m all about free. Pretty much everything htismaqe is saying about beer is the way I feel about coffee.

But I went the other way. I buy really good drip coffee rather than espresso.

Black Rifle Coffee Murdered Out is my weakness.

I’m a snob :sulk:

Thinking of pulling the trigger. Read there is no backspin button though which is kind of a bummer.

Mecca 10-15-2020 10:25 AM

Golden Tee was 250 for 2 days in response to the prime sale, it isn't now but it likely will go back on sale during black friday.

I spent 399 on the NBA Jam cab, got mine at Costco and the Costco version is better..here's why..

Also comes with light up buttons and back lighting..

Here's the non costco one...

No light up buttons or back lighting and the same damn price.

I've thought about buying golden tee a few times though.

I have two fluorescent fixtures (two bulbs each) above each car bay, both connected to a normal (screw-in) outlet in the center. Do you think a single in the center would be an upgrade over the two fluorescents on the sides?

Probably. But I’d leave the fluorescents and put one of those in the other fixture and run all the light.

Possibly. I just have 2 single bulbs over each car bay that don't really do much. I subbed out the side I'm not parking in and its plenty. Not sure if one in the center would be enough though.

Here's my comparison.

FOR YOUR CAR

#1. My headlights on my car were foggy (sandblasted looking). Tried Rustoleum's Wipe New headlight restorer and worked great. Was easy too...just do a little better job sanding than I did...but literally only took about 15 minutes to do both my headlights and look new. $15 Bucks is what I think I paid at auto store.

#2. Bamoer scratch remover cloth...removed scratches from my car where some ass wipe keyed my car...almost invisible now. Also for oxidized paint, etc. Just a few bucks on Amazon...took 5 minutes and did a great job. I guess this thing has nano filament that bonds with the existing paint and seals the scratches...not for really deep gouges however.

In 1982 I purchased a 1972 Ferrari Dino GT for $20,000. favorite car ever.
In 1983 was divorced and lost the car. Still crying about the car. To replace today would cost over $400,000.

However, I ended up with Plantronics. Noise canceling isn't quite as good but they support AptX LL, which for my setup is a must.

Normal bluetooth audio latency is around 224-240ms.

Tolerance for live TV is about 40-60ms. Anything beyond that and the naked eye/ear will see the delay.

AptX LL has more bandwidth for high quality audio at significantly lower latencies. We're talking 32-40ms or 6 times faster than normal bluetooth.

In my setup, I have both a TV and a PS4, neither of which support Bluetooth. There's plenty of headphones available for PS4 and Xbox but none of them support noise cancelling and in my environment NC is an absolute must.

It's easy enough to hookup a Bluetooth dongle to the TV via optical but then you have that latency. Watching live TV or playing games is impossible because of the delay. That's where AptX LL comes in. I got an Aventree AptX adapter, hooked it up to my TV via optical, and everything just works.

That is pretty great. I would like to be able to throw my headphones on for TV but it has always seemed harder than it has to be or the tech not quite being there. I will have to look into this.

****ing rad man. Right behind my distain for the soap opera look is sound latency. It's like a gall darned Godzilla movie.

The Bluetooth adapters are numerous and cheap. Aventree is one of the highest-rated out there and I paid $20 for it. It supports normal headphone jack and optical.

The real trick is finding a good pair of headphones that support both AptX LL AND noise canceling. After probably a month of research, I settled on Plantronics. They're a trusted brand, especially in my industry, and I'm pretty pleased.

In 1983 was divorced and lost the car. Still crying about the car. To replace today would cost over $400,000.

I wish I had seen something like that, in '83 I bought an '81 Corvette for $13,000 and sold it two years later for $11,000.

When looking for the Vette, I remember looking at the Pontiac Fiero because it looked good on the outside but it turned out to be a real dog. I sat in the car and the console between the seats was a big square hump. I said, what's in there, the salesman said, Oh that's where the fuel tank is, I got right out and moved on to something else. Here's what they looked like.

Ah yes, who could forget the Pontiac Fiasco.

We just had our kitchen counters and cabinets refinished. Looks like a whole new kitchen for pretty damn cheap. I'll try to post picture later. I would highly recommend this if you don't want the cost of replacing everything.

I did the DIY version of that a few years back. Just paint on the cabinets (though I did a TON of research into how to do it well). We did Rustoleum's Countertop Transformations for the countertops, and it's held up surprisingly well. We're at 5.5 years now, and the only issue I've run into is that it doesn't stick to 90-degree corners very well, so I've had to touch it up a few times with a black paint pen. Still, this whole project cost me about $400 (not including appliances obviously), so hard to complain after 5 years.

What did you use? We're thinking about doing our cabinets and countertops

Yeah, for sure. To clarify on the problem area, it's just that cut corner across from the fridge. We tend to rub on that a lot when we're cooking, so it takes a lot of abuse. All of the rounded edges have been fine.

Glad your project turned out well!
