I see this sentiment every year. Why? It literally makes absolutely no difference. EA is still going to heavily monetize from the small percentage of whales that are willing to fork over literal thousands for MUT. EA is still going to be willing to pay literal billions for exclusivity rights. The only thing that'll make a difference is if a rival game development company actually makes it worth the NFLs time to allow them to develop games as well. That's the only reason Sunday Ticket moved.

I haven't been paying attention - is there a new PGA Tour game out this year?

I've been playing PGA 2K21 with my buddies when we want the golf fix. It's hard to make a compelling argument to purchase a new golf Sim once you have a good one. The community created courses available are pretty amazing.

It's a great time to spend a few hours drinking and cursing each other out, viciously mocking subpar swings lmao.

I miss Hot Shots and Outlaw Golf quite a bit.

I own this one. Haven't played it in a bit. Might be a good idea to pick it back up and see how terrible I am.

I noticed PS Plus has a Tiger Woods game as one of their free monthly games for August if you’re interested/have a PS. Not sure if it’s technically PGA Tour though.

I have the urge to play Tiger Woods '05 from time to time for some odd reason, lol.

Well took the plunge and tried to download for PC. First time playing madden on pc. Or, it would have been. I haven’t bought or played on since mahomes first cover. And that one i only played until probably October before I put it up and hadn’t played since .


Six hours of dicking with trying to complete download Had to figIre out how to enable secure boot. Finally got past that part then was stopped dead in my tracks with the EA APP that was preventing me from finishing downloading. Could not access any sort of forgot password or user name on EAs site /page would just sit there.

I did play it for a bit yesterday and I was admittedly having a pretty good time, I haven’t played it in years so I’m not sure how it compares to last years, It does, however, feel weird to me when running etc and getting right stick prompts for moves. That’s new to me and slowly getting more comfortable with it.

First time playing madden on a gaming monitor and headphones. So that alone made for a better experience. Up until now I had always been a tv /living room player until I got a gaming PC Llast year.

Overal I enjoyed it so far. For anyone who hasn’t played it in 4+ years it. Ishtar be worth checking out.

This is true, the ultimate team stuff is a major money maker. Nobody wants to build up their team naturally, they want it immediately and therefore will fork over hundreds of dollars through the rest of the year to get more packs and better cards.

I've always hoped Madden would update their presentation to look like it's on a real network. Be it CBS, NBC, Fox, ABC, NFL Network or preferably a mixture of some or all of them.

And holy hell they desperately need new announcers.

You can tailor your experience to ridiculously easy to ball breaking hardcore in the settings.

First order of business, disable swing timing until you get a grasp of the game, and swinging straight. Once you start destroying course scores, ease into swing timing incorporation.

You can disable wind, and customize how firm the ground is, to how fast the greens run.

You can literally hole in 1 shorter Par 4 holes with easy settings if you calculate distance right and swing accurately.

Holy shit video games cost $70 now?

Little bit of the superstar mode and my God there is so many amount of cut scenes and menu swaps, and just overall down dead time. Bouncing between this and franchise.

Patrick Mahomes has not released as a playable dlc character in BG3.

Had an updated file downloaded. Then restarted ps4 and not only was my franchise and face of franchise progress gone , I was unable to even create an offline franchise. I deleted /uninstalled and I’ll reinstall tomorrow and give it another go.

Bought a Meta Quest 2 a while back and it came with VR golf (and also bought a cheap mini golf game)... I have the same mean slice in the VR world than I do at Top Golf, so it's pretty realistic. LMAO

Just got this and started playing. Man, I'm rusty. After getting my butt kicked in the first preseason game it said I have a "free practice". I went in and did practice. It doesn't seem like there is any natural "end" to practice, you just have to quit the game, correct? It feels like I should be able to go back to my franchise mode and play the next preseason game, but don't see that option.

Never mind. Guess you just quit practice and blow past warnings that you will lose "unsaved progress". Wasn't sure if there was some player +1s or something that might come from completing a practice but apparently not.

The bonuses are in the drills.

Practice is just for you to learn plays.

I'm now well into my first season playing Franchise Mode and love this game. I enjoyed Madden many years ago but just hadn't picked it up in a long time. Being a Chiefs fan definitely gives it an extra boost. It's been a tedious process building my playbook with plays that I have trust in, still working on that but at this point I consistently drive for touchdowns and winning by a couple of scores, albeit on the "Pro" level, which I think I used to play "All Pro". Kinda funny my team has the #1 defense in football, and Isiah Pacheco is the baddest ass RB in the NFL, although now he's hurt so it's all McKinnon.

Kadarious Toney has been a monster. I'm able to hit him and kind of throw him open on those deep drag routes across the field for big plays.

It really is true that Madden no longer allows you to just mash the same few offensive plays over and over. They will just blanket cover whomever you've been hitting. I notice a sharp change usually at the beginning of the second half. Whatever plays I was roasting them with first half no longer work, or are at least a lot more risky.

I am able to mash the same over-aggressive defense over and over, though, without too many negative consequences.

All Pro with jacked sliders or nerfed All Madden. Some nerf some jack really most years

I think the All Pro with tweaked sliders is where I ended up last time I actually played. All Madden from my memory was just "no matter what you do, the AI will just have you fumble and **** up shit you don't control, while their players make highlight video after highlight video", which wasn't fun.

Played a game of this on the stock all pro difficulty, and essentially 4-3 defense is either super OP, or the offensive line is just reeruned.

I logged 13.5 sacks in a single game with 6 minute quarters.

Doesn't matter what play you call. Cover 2, 3, 4, man, it doesn't matter. Crash your line in the middle and set linebackers to blitz all. Minimum 2 unblocked come screaming in, sometimes 3. Logged 3 safeties as well in one contest.

It's by far the worst experience in franchise. Turning up the difficulty only seems to screw you over on offense and cause more interceptions to occur, or just wide open passes get missed or dropped.

I can't imagine playing an entire season of this.

Oh, and anyone altering ALL MADDEN sliders to make things easier, well, you're not really playing All Madden anymore now are you?

Herp derp if the hardest setting is too hard turn your sliders up to make it easier. Just play on rookie if you're gonna do that.

Remember that you can double shade your coverages as well. If you have some asshole repeatedly running drags or crosses, press Y (triangle on PS) and left on the right stick to shade inside, and then immediately follow that up with pressing Y and down on the right stick to shade underneath.

In your coaching set your hook and curl zones at 10 yards, and personally I set my flat zones at 30 yards to brick the streak/corner route combination.

So if you see someone running deep all the time and hitting the easy corner route, highlight your safety over there press A (x on ps) and move him into that flat zone assignment and ge will be waiting right there to pick that corner route.

I’m enjoying the game quite a bit. I’m always honest with my Madden thoughts and they are onto something pretty decent gameplay wise. Best Madden in a few years without a doubt.

As opposed to slumming on all Pro or bragging about sack numbers on pro using nano blitz ROFL..ya it's the solution to getting better. Start slow and work up to balance Sim stats.
