Seeders are people that have that file available for sharing with you. Leechers are people trying to download the file. It's possible for the torrent to exist, but not have any seeders available, which would show what you describe, being able to start the torrent but never downloading anything and staying at 0%.

And keep in mind that unless you have a torrent application on your Note II, you won't be able to download the actual e-book. You shouldn't be able to download it with Chrome on your Note II, unless there is some sort of torrent plugin for Android Chrome that I'm not aware of. More than likely, you're simply downloading the file that contains the information for the torrent. The way torrents work, is that you'll find a torrent file on the web somewhere like Piratebay. It will be in the format "SomeAwesomeBook.torrent". But that file doesn't contain the actual e-book that you're wanting. It's simply an information file that tells a torrent application where the actual e-book file is. The .torrent file must be opened by a torrent application, which then reads the info from that file and starts downloading the file from available seeders.

My guess would be that you're doing it correctly within uTorrent, but there aren't any available seeders. And on your Note and Kindle, you're simply downloading the .torrent file, but it does nothing because it needs a torrent application to read the .torrent file.

Here's the e-book you're wanting: http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/68029...22.63__A_Novel

And there are lots of seeders for that. Can you click that link, and then click where it says "Get this Torrent", beside the little magnet symbol. Ignore the giant green button that says "Dowload", that's simply an ad, and not the torrent. Click "Get this Torrent", and it should open in uTorrent. See if that works for you..

Thank you, that was very helpful.

This looks neat. I just wish I could get used to the whole swyping type of thing.

That's kind of weird. I don't know that I could ever get used to typing whole sentences without lifting my finger.

WoodDraw 12-03-2012 11:08 PM

I used swype on my old phone, and have used Swiftkey on my new phone. The newest Android version (4.2 default keyboard) basically combines the two. I've found myself using the swype method more often than not. I've started to **** up typing on my phone because I'll naturally start swyping.

I'm signed up for the Swiftkey flow beta though. Looking forward to trying it out.

I liked Swype, but I just didn't like the streaks that it inevitably created on the screen. Smudges and steaks drive me crazy.

Great Expectations 12-04-2012 09:32 AM

I didn't think I would like this, but it is great. It knows 98% of the time what word you want to type and it is much faster than pecking away at the keyboard.

I got an email from Swiftkey this week saying they were close to sending out the beta and would be notifying us soon.
Looking forward to testing it.

Oh, and swyping is so easy it's natural. When I use my wife's non-swype phone I automatically try to swype on her keyboard and get confused then pissed when it won't work.

When did you get it?

-King- 12-05-2012 12:36 AM

Not an app.

But mobile gamers would probably like this.

That's fantastic! I tried using that swiping style when I first got my Galaxy S3, but Samsung's auto grammar wasn't nearly as good as my Swiftkey 3. Now that SK has that swiping style, it should be perfect.

Oh. Thanks.

WoodDraw 12-06-2012 04:45 AM

The beta is out now. Hard for me to copy and paste the APKs right now, but I'll do it in a few hours if no one beats me to it.

[edit]

Not so hard:

SwiftKey Flow Beta APK (smartphone) http://bit.ly/skflowbeta
SwiftKey Flow Beta APK (tablet) http://bit.ly/skflowbetatab

[edit2]

And if that doesn't work, go here:

BigMeatballDave 12-06-2012 04:59 AM

Just started using it. Better than swype.

DaKCMan AP 12-06-2012 07:22 AM

I've been using Swype for over a year and a half - love it. I can't imagine texting on a normal non-QWERTY keyboard.
