Yost handles the bullpen better than any manager I have ever seen. It is preposterous that he catches as much heat as he does.

As far as I can tell, this is the fastest the Royals have gotten to 70 wins since 1989.

Ned's managing, particularly as it pertained to changing pitchers, won us this game. He could have left Shields in to bat with two outs and nobody on so that he could keep pitching. He didn't, and Willingham singled to start a three run rally.

30-7 = 100 wins
25-12 = 95 wins
20-17 = 90 wins

That's a good point. When it comes to managers, people only remember the mistakes.

That was the coaching move of the night. Brilliant!

I'll take 92 wins like that year.

The worst ERA in the Royals bullpen is Bruce Chen - by far - at 6.56. Everyone else is under 4. Worst amongst that is Crow at 3.65.

The Royals' top 5 bullpen guys all have ERAs under 2.50.

By comparison, the Tigers only have one reliever (LOOGY Blaine Hardy) under 2.50.

I think the greatness of Holland/Davis/Herrera gives us a false impression of everyone else.

Great point, and very true

What is Davis & Herrera's scoreless inning streak now?
