Mondesi is virtually untouchable as a trade piece. Maybe not 100%, but the chances sit at about 0.000001%.

There's certainly not even been a whisper of a potential trade where it would seem even plausible. I haven't even seen someone speculate about a hypothetical trade that would include the jewel of their farm system.

Jayson Stark was just on ESPN with a couple trade notes.

-Says the Padres definitely want to trade Shields, but he personally doesn't think they'll find a buyer. A lot of the teams he's talked to don't think Shields is pitching THAT well, he's not going deep enough into games, and his contract is backloaded.

-Says the Tigers definitely don't want to sell. They'll at least wait through this weekend to make a decision. He personally thinks as long as they don't completely collapse over the next week or so, they'll try to hang on and fight for a wild card spot.

Good. I want to see the Tigers die a slow, old death. Don't want them restocking their farm system. There was never a chance we would land Cespedes or Price anyway.
