Wasn't Esky the worst offensive starting player in the AL last year? WHY would they want that back???

None of this upsets me, good for them, they've earned the paycheck.
But it's also why you have your own name put on your team's #69 jersey, you'll probably be a fan of the team, and 69, longer than a great player will be on the team. LMAO |
I can't imagine there was a huge market for Escobar so this doesn't surprise me. The problem is he has that games played streak and they aren't going to want to break it.
This does protect us if Mondesi comes out and hits .100 again, but I'm worried that this is also a move to add depth if we trade Whit. |
I'm terrified until I see the terms. Yuck.

ESKY NOW OFFICIALLY OUR TANK COMMANDER.
LEAD US TO THE 1ST PICK, BUDDY. |
Worst case scenario: We trade Whit, Mondesi looks overmatched again and we get to watch Escobar and Goins play 140 games together.
|
Of all our FAs this year, Esky is the LEAST ONE I'd want back.
|
I can't imagine it's anything more than a prove it deal. He's here in case mondie flops and has to go back to AAA for a breather.
That's what I'm telling myself, at least. |
I am looking forward to the return of the Bentancourt-era game day threads.
