Matt Williamson isn't. He was one of the few who said that Russell Wilson would be a franchise QB from the get-go. Clearly he's not as impressed with Geno as some of the folks here are.

Im sick to my stomach, Not so much with Smith but with what they gave up to get him.

This team is stuck in a giant loop of fail.

Its ground hog day.

These are the same people who are stuck in 2010 and think Cassel is a great QB that can take his team to a SB.

5 in 2011(franchise record), 5 in 2012(3 in one game with a broken finger).

He's turned the ball over like 10 times in the past 2 seasons. Chiefs QB's turned the ball over 29 times just this season alone.

DonTellMeShowMe 02-27-2013 04:46 PM

Andy Reid will have Smith balling next season, I can't wait to see you guys flip the switch seriously, ya'll will be calling him "Smittie" in no time

BryanBusby 02-27-2013 04:47 PM

Maybe that is because he checks down alot because he has a noodle of an arm. Couldn't be though right?

O.city 02-27-2013 04:48 PM

He better flip the switch, this is a win now move, so we better be int he AFC Champ game, or it's a failure.

Why did your past QB's not do it if it was so easy?

HotCarl 02-27-2013 04:49 PM

I have thought since the offseason began that Alex Smith was our best option. He is underrated by people with Geno blinders on, and he will work out in KC.

That being said, we did give up too much. I can't fathom Reid and Dorsey overpaying for him, but there could have been another team in the mix.

Quarterbacks are boom or bust. If one works out, he's worth a first rounder - probably multiple first rounders. If he doesn't work out, a 7th was too much.

If Alex Smith is good enough to win playoff games here, basically, if he's as good as he was last year - good enough for San Fran to be a muffed punt away from the Super Bowl - then a 2nd won't be overpaying. But I think we did give a premium for what he's worth right now, as I was hoping for 3rd-4th.

Either way, the QB position is settled, now we move on with one purpose which is improving the roster everywhere else.

At this point man I'm just laughing.

I can't believe we gave up that much...more than what we gave up for Cassel and I'm not even counting the fact that Vrabel was in that trade as well.
