FTR I like Geno, and I hope the Chiefs get him if they think he is the best available QB.

What?

Other than the first drive, Nassib was inaccurate on even the short throws and threw an interception. He looked horrible. He didn't even come close to making the throws Geno made today.

And I really like the guy.

It was shit conditions that were not conducive to the passing game.

But don't go full reerun.

Nassib:

12/24
127 yards
50% completion
2 TD's
1 Int
113.6 rating

Geno:

16/24
187 yards
66.7% completion
2 TD's
0 Ints
159.6 rating

Both QB's had receivers drop balls that were right in their hands. Geno had several passes come back for shitty holding penalities.

And Syracuse's offensive line is substantially better than WVU's.

People who haven't watched WVU a lot seem to think that Geno should automatically put up 500 and 4 TDs every game. They don't watch how freaking porous his offensive line was for the entire season and how horrible the defense was. The guy has literally been throwing to his receivers while under a ton of pressure the entire year.

You put him in a game where it's damn near impossible to drive the ball down the field vertically against a team that is running the ball down their throats and it's going to be a tough hill to climb.

But most of the Geno detractors don't have the mental capacity to understand things like this.

They didn't see him making multiple reads all game long, making NFL level passes, making solid audibles at the line of scrimmage. They just know that he didn't pass for 500 yards and 6 TDs thus he must suck.

What NFL level passes did Smith make today?

At one point, Nassib had 8 straight incompletions. You should have payed closer attention to the game...

That's a stupid cliche. They don't run WR screens in the NFL? Gimme a break.

Nassib had two passes that hit DEFENDERS right in the hands but were dropped.

Yeah. A sure fire pick six for one.

The refs weren't too kind to WVU today either.

The non-called leg whip for a safety and the holding penalty that called the TD back were total momentum changers.

The no-call on the leg whip was bad but I really didn't see it in real time. It wasn't until I saw the replay in slow-motion that it became obvious. I can forgive that one.

Some of the calls, for both teams, were AWFUL though.

Quite a damn few, actually. Went through progressions and showed nice life on the ball to the outside.

Even without that, are bubble and jailbreak screens not "NFL" throws? Pretty sure I see them EVERY ****ING SUNDAY.

Why don't I see people getting hyped up about Landry Jones' screen passes?

Because he can't make the other throws the way Geno can. Seen them both play many times. There's a clear difference between the two.
