having seen my baseball team win 5 championships and one in person does ease the pain of my football fandom but not a lot. Everyone of those playoff loses still feels like a punch in the gut.

Hacking? You need that to hate the Cardinals? ROFL

That was some personal animosity shit that had nothing to do with baseball. Just two factions in the Cardinals who couldn't let it go that the other faction got picked to stay.

I sometimes see the Colts games in my dreams...

Yup, that's the thing the Astros tanked while more than half of Houston was "out of market".

Basically the Astros stopped existing on TV for 3-4 years because of Comcast

Either I keep Direct TV and watch the Chiefs every Sunday or I switch to Spectrum and watch all of the Lakers and Dodgers respective seasons.

After the Raiders game, I was ready to switch for the first time in 14 years.

I really don’t have any deep seated love for the Dodgers or Lakers but I am beginning to dislike the NFL.

I doubt I make the switch anytime soon but unfortunately, the seed has been planted.

The one where Jamaal Charles didn't have a concussion and if he did.... he didn't because we would have won!

I don't know if it brings bragging rights, but I think your viewpoint is a bit skewed here. The Royals, despite a terrible 30 year stretch, are still one of the best expansion teams in the history of baseball. 9 playoff appearances, 4 World Series appearances, 2 World Series wins. There aren't many teams that have done better, certainly not among the other "expansion" teams that came in once baseball started expanding in the 60s.

If you take a look at the last 40 years of baseball, which is most of our lifetimes... the only American League teams that have done absolutely better than that are the Yankees and Red Sox. I don't believe anyone else in the AL even has more than 4 appearances and 2 titles in that stretch. There are teams like the White Sox, that have been around since 1901, that have the same number of playoff appearances as the Royals. The Phillies have been around since 1883 and they have 2 titles.

And that doesn't even go into the fact that Kansas City is one of the smallest markets in the sport that usually punishes small markets the most.

not really. 25 runs in a baseball game can't be good baseball. Good offense. No real defensive miscues.

The pitching was horrendous. I'm not a fan of a 2-1 pitching duel either but let's have something inbetween these two extremes.

It was still fun as hell to watch.

Dumb.

What the ****? Nobody owes you an explanation for why they prefer one non-KC, non-division team winning over another. Plus, L.A. ****ing sucks! Just because you live there, L.A. is full of smug assholes, is that too hard to understand?

As for how the Astros did it, don't blame them for a recipe that appears to be working.

Quite a bit of difference rooting for the Astros vs something like those teams listed.

Because those teams have won multiple titles AND are in the same conference as the Chiefs.

The Astros have never done much of anything, have exciting players they drafted and developed and are playing a large payroll team similar to the New York Yankees with a fanbase just as likeable.

Rooting down conference lines is a much too simple view of sports as a whole.
