2009 weeks 9-17 with Charles starting - Cassel had 8 TDs to 11 INTs. Haley is the OC.
2010 weeks 9-17 with Charles starting - Cassel had 17 TDs to 4 INTs. Weis is the OC.

One of these things is not like the other. Yeah, Weiss had nothing at all to do with the offense looking like an NFL offense in 2010.

And other people are saying Palko could lead the Broncos to 6 straight wins just like Tebow?? Holy crap.

This place used to have semi-intelligent posters.

They played Denver twice in the 2nd half of 2009, when Denver had a top 10 defense.

They played Denver twice in the 2nd half of 2010, when they were ranked 32 out of 32 in both yards and scoring.

I won't spend the time spelling it all out here but bottom line is that the defenses in 2009 were roughly 10 spots BETTER overall than the defenses they played down the stretch in 2010.

So if Cassel didn't get hurt this year, he would have thrown for 3 or 4 TDs against the "horrible" Pats and Bears D this year? He would have kept KC competitive this coming week against a lowly ranked GB pass D? Sure.

Green Bay and New England have ridiculous offenses. Cassel has also struggled when facing those teams because he presses and makes mistakes.

A GM making questionable moves.
An owner who won't spend money.
A starting QB of inferior quality forced on the coach.
Injuries to your all-world RB and DB and solid young TE.

So, of course, the scapegoat is the coach.

:spock:

Because he was a known winner as HC before he landed this opportunity. :doh!:

I agree. As has every non-chiefs fan I've talked to today.
