Yes, all of those teams COULD.

But you're banking on the idea that at least 4 of them WILL. I don't see it.

I strongly see the Chiefs, Bills, Cards, and Jets taking one. A lot of these teams are now under new coaches and will want to get "their guy". Guys like Weeden and Foles are easily expendable because they were from the previous regime. I also can't see the Jags going in with Gabbert and Henne again. There may be some FA moves that change things, but I don't see many FA QB's that will prevent a team from taking one in the draft. Maybe Alex Smith gets traded and takes one of these teams out of contention. It will be more obvious once FA gets under way.

I also think Barkley gets shit on way too much on this forum. He's a first round talent for sure, and I think enough teams need QBs that somebody will trade up into the top 15 or even the top 10 to draft him.

He's not my favorite QB but, I see him as the first off the board right now.

They can't ALL suck. Some of them have to represent the norm, and only a few get to be exceptionally terrible.

2010 was one of those really terrible classes. Same with 2011. And really, I would put 2009 as a pretty bad class, too. 2008 would be bad as well if it weren't for teams like Atlanta and Baltimore that ignored the ****ing idiots that parroted the, "QB not worth it! QB not worth it!" mantra for ****ing months. 2007 and 2006, obviously, ****ing shitty as hell.

2013 is a GOOD QB class. People just don't realize it yet. And yes, that includes the scouts and national draft media experts that people irrationally cling to. If it isn't an obvious selection sitting in front of them like Andrew Luck, these assholes often wouldn't know a good QB if he raped their mothers.

thank you

2008 had a QB with an average arm and a less than 2/1 td/int ratio; and a QB from ****ing Delaware who threw for a 189 yards against Delaware St...

this fanbase would lose their idiot shit if those were our options this year

and both QBs have been to conference championship games, one to the superbowl

Barkley get's shit on by virtue of playing for USC. If he was playing in the SEC people would be blowing him. The guy was a potential top 5 pick last year. His talent and skills didn't just disappear when he returned for his senior year. He still had a good year, the whole team just underperformed for the most part.

Barkley was insane in the LSU game.

My gripe isn't the fact that he's a USC QB or played in Pac 12. I couldn't care less. Furthermore, I don't see how QBs from the same school tie at all when they're different players with completely different coaches during those eras.

My thing is Matt is simple. I've had my fill of weak armed KC QBs. Some good (Green) and a lot who were bad (namely Cassel). I'm just tired of that style of play. I want to watch something different.

So for that reason, I'd rather roll the dice on a project guy with tools than see Matt Barkley. That's just me.

i think there's a good chance barkley is top 15, depending on combine chatter...

if he drops into the 20's someone will move up for him

As if all this grading is precise. There is some probability distribution of performance of the player: He may hit his grade, he may underperform his grade, or he may exceed his grade. In the modern NFL, if you don't have one of the 10 best QBs in the league, you can't win -- so you draft a QB, and hope you get right-tail performance. If not, rinse and repeat - and the new rookie scale makes that easier to do.

Well I was mostly just speaking in general, not in the context of the Chiefs picking him since I am not actually a Chiefs fan.

But they have been saying all season how Barkley's arm strength is much improved this year. I think this misconception has been coming from some of his highlight videos where he sails them and it's underthrown. And with a lot of those, it's because he sailed the balled too much, not because he didn't throw it hard enough.

Absolutely correct.

He's a better prospect than Locker, who "fell" to #8 overall after having a shit senior season. Barkley, on the other hand, had a very solid year, and I expect he'll likely be top 10.

Health is the only question mark at this point.

Health isn't a concern with Barkley. He just has a non surgical injury in his shoulder because he got absolutely rocked.

Any injury to a throwing shoulder is cause for concern. The question is how much.
