They have never appeared cheap since Dewitt tool over. They could have spent more money on a bench last year and could be more aggressive in the Latin market. But overall they have kept payroll around the #10 spot in MLB. If they maintain that level of payroll, thats close enough that we should remain competitive.

I honestly think they should put their effort into an impact 1st baseman. Even if that means not doing anything this offseason and waiting until the trade deadline next year. I don't think I can handle many more years of a Moss/Adams combo.

Would you guys actually sign Cueto?

Ya I'd have no problem with Cueto. Players nowadays are basically mercenaries anyways.

Another reason to hate taxes lol.

O.city 12-11-2015 03:53 PM

Chris davis and Justin upton, ftw

kcpasco 12-11-2015 03:54 PM

Honestly I'd just roll with Holliday Grichuk Piscotty in the outfield.

ChiefsCountry 12-11-2015 03:55 PM

Illinois has cheaper taxes than Missouri? That seems strange, my clients don't seem to think so.

BigRedChief 12-11-2015 03:57 PM

Derrick Goold is supposedly saying the Cardinals offered $200 million/10 years. Opt-out later than the Cubs. And had deferred money. But, I'm not seeing that on his twitter feed. Maybe from local STL radio?

I think thats BS. If its about taxes just come to Florida with no, zero state taxes.

kcpasco 12-11-2015 03:59 PM

Well ya the opt out is more valuable because the market will only increase 3 years from now and Heyward is betting on himself.

He'll be competing with Bryce Harper on the market if he opts out after the 2018 season.

Harper will set the market and if Heyward is playing well then 24 million a year won't be enough.
