mikeyis4dcats. 01-10-2012 09:06 PM

I can't ever remember a team with so many players on the verge of fouling out. Especially thius early.

kstater 01-10-2012 09:08 PM

@SethDavisHoops Seth davis
FIVE Baylor players have four fouls. Can't say it's a home whistle. K St amazing at taking charges.

mikeyis4dcats. 01-10-2012 09:10 PM

bah, 6 in a row for BU. Terrible ball handling.

mikeyis4dcats. 01-10-2012 09:13 PM

surely we can foul a couple of these guys out...

kstater 01-10-2012 09:14 PM

That's a killer

LMAO Martin isn't happy. Good game Cats

Stanley Nickels 01-10-2012 09:22 PM

"How about playing defense, Stan? Ever heard of that one?" LMAO

Saulbadguy 01-10-2012 09:22 PM

Ouch. What a way to piss away a game the refs hand you on a silver platter.

KcMizzou 01-10-2012 09:22 PM

I wish you'd won that. Hell of a game. Big 12 road games are gonna be a bitch all year.

Too bad. I was Pullen for the 'Cats.

kstater 01-10-2012 09:26 PM

Eh, 1-2 was about what was expected to start the league. Bounce back the next few weeks then try and go 2-1 during that same 3 game stretch in February.

Saulbadguy 01-10-2012 09:33 PM

I wish our team would refuse to participate in that reeruned prayer circle Baylor does after the game.

kstater 01-10-2012 09:36 PM

@OU, UT, @OSU, @TTU, OU, @ISU, aTm, TTU, @UT

Games between now and the KU,MU, Baylor stretch again. 7-2 is what I want out of that. It's realistic.

KevB 01-10-2012 09:40 PM

I've never seen so many careless turnovers that lead to breakouts. There were two stretches in the second half that just killed the Cats. You can barely put Angel on the floor at this point. Against KU and now Baylor, he's been a deer in headlights.

I agree with you. I've been consistently impressed with Frank Martin. He's a hothead and sometimes doesn't moderate himself enough, but he's a damn fine coach who'll do great things for you guys. Until Donovan leaves FL :D

Trying to win in Columbia and Waco is gonna be a bitch. Gotta win the home games. Missed a big opportunity tonight.

Mr_Tomahawk 01-10-2012 09:54 PM

Good game State.

Was pulling for you guys to pull off another upset.

I still think KSU will be very tough for anyone at the Octagon.

Not really. Stan knows what he is getting in to, especially after a tough loss. He is who he is with his emotions. He and Stan are very good friends off the court. Now, one of the things he left out, relative to his comments with Stan, was "and I substituted like a reerun having JO sitting on the bench, and not having JJ in instead of Angel." Seriously, WTF was he thinking?

It was odd that after all of the mistakes last night, he pulls JO for a lane violation and sits him the final three minutes. We could certainly have used him on the defensive glass at the end.

I love me some Frank, but I really think he let's his emotions cloud his judgement at times. There was NO REASON not to have JO in the game in the finally 4 minutes. I was sitting several rows behind Frank last night, and I tried to let him know. o:-)

That decision did hurt the team, no doubt. Gip wasn't really getting anything done at all against that length, and of course had the key travel at the end. I'll continue to scream from the rooftops, but until Gip figures out how to go to his right hand around the rim, he's going to be irrelevant against good teams. He actually spun that way once last night and I thought I was going to see that elusive right hand. Alas, he just ball faked and came back to his left (and actually flipped that one up and in).

mikeyis4dcats. 01-11-2012 11:18 AM

why does Frank NEVER attack a player with 4 fouls?

ChiTown 01-11-2012 11:34 AM

Pertaining to Big Gip

Honestly, he needs to come in next season weighing NO MORE than 260 (hopefully less). He can be Quincy Acy (or better) at some point, but he's got to get more nimble and quicker on those feet. At this point, he's just too big to do what we do in our Offense at that position. I do agree with your point: Develop the right hand around the basket, and he can play with anyone.

My guess is he feels that trying to isolate will do more harm than good. Shuts down ball movement, people movement, etc. Not saying we shouldn't have those wrinkles in the offense, just guessing as to why we rarely do it.

He's the leading candidate to get FRANKED by the end of the season.

Do we have any update on Dawson? I kept hearing rumors in the past week or so that he was going to Wazzu, but haven't heard anything official...

Frank's really been bad with JuCos, hasn't he? Not that I really care, it's just interesting.

OU is terrible. Cats playing as bad as they can and are only down 6.

WilliamTheIrish 01-14-2012 01:16 PM

This kind of game kills me. Play from behind, cut the margin to 2, let it get back to 7, cut the margin, ...

This is going to hinge on tough D, rebounds and Sprads hanging on to the ball.

WilliamTheIrish 01-14-2012 01:17 PM

F'ing Shane....

WilliamTheIrish 01-14-2012 01:18 PM

This is what they refer to as a classic trap game.

WilliamTheIrish 01-14-2012 01:22 PM

JFC. 3 TO's consecutively, two bunnies that won't fall and then a brick from Sprads. This is going to be 20 point loss.

I didn't see that game, but I've seen this type of game many times from KSU. Cats aren't getting to the line. Aren't getting 2nd shots from the Oglass. This is a team, and coach, that hasn't gotten over the Baylor game.

It's true.

And I don't want to take too much away from OU's D, but KSU got a LOT of fine looks and only JJ hit anything. Very frustrating.

kstater 01-14-2012 01:45 PM

Weird game. Cats played as bad as I think they could defensively. Correct that and they should come out on top. Missed a ton of shots from guys that usually make them.

There will be several of these until the situation with taking care of the ball is resolved. AND, it's round robin.

That's why losing a perfectly winnable game on Tuesday still stings.
