Pootie the Bellhop disapproves of anybody who doesn't talk Chiefs 24/7.

Right, Pootie?

Hootie reminds me of a friend of mine from high school and college. He always thought he was the smartest guy in the room, was a huge smart ass about everything and picked everyone else a part. He ended up living with his mom until he was about 30, got fired from his job as a janitor for failing a piss test, and knocked up some bi polar chick that beats the shit out him. Whenever I read a Hootie post I think of him.

I'm tired of it. Sunday is my fun day during football season.

If we never win anything and we regress back to the early Marty/Carl years

SIGN ME UP

I thought a purge and horrific season would finally lead to a QBOTF. Whether it's to there not being one or whatever the argument is, we still probably don't have one. Odds are Alex won't get us to the promise land, but I am personally tired of being emotionally detached to this team.

I too am at the point of just saying "**** it, I am going to trust that this organization will replace Alex if he doesn't succeed." Therefore I am just going to sit back and enjoy it and not think about the idea that Alex could trick us into extra years of "average" results. Hopefully if he is average, they will see it and make a move, no matter what our win record says.

Contrary to popular belief, most of the optimists on here at least don't think that at all. We simply see it as a possible stepping stone toward being competitive.

6 or 7 next year is improvement but we all know what it will take to be a contender.

Sorry. That's where I'm at right now. You want advanced metrics and analysis to argue about flawed approaches to trying to win a championship? See some posts I've authored from '11.

Right now it's pissing into the wind, and it's time to see how things unfold. Yeah, we can have some assumptions about expectations, but I have to clear the mechanism a bit; otherwise there will never be any football enjoyment for me.

This is the life of a Chiefs fan.

Stepping stones are for losers.

We went through one year of the worst coaching I've ever seen. That was 2-12. The year prior we started Tyler ****ing Palko for 5 games, lost Charles and Berry in Week 1 and 2, and still went 7-9.

A stepping stone is making the playoffs. It's an improvement of what this team actually was under Haley.

For the record, I don't expect them to meet that stepping stone.

I'm in the summer doldrums right now. I'm sure my rage will renew itself come August, and I'll be right back in my happy place, calling for the heads of GMs.

I think we all know that team was far worse than 7-9. I suppose in that sense, the record isn't really the main thing. I just want to see the team look competitive and show promise next year. That could result in a record of anywhere between 6-8 and 10-6 I'd think.
