I don't think getting off the line was his problem, Claythan has shown multiple clips of him wide ass open and our inepttitude at QB could not find him. He really hasn't had a QB to get him the ball yet in his career.

And why do people think we're going to throw it less.

Donnie Avery has nothing to do with the 2011 Chiefs, Matt Cassel or Steve Breaston.

Why anyone would attempt to bring that up is hilarious.

Alex Smith and 35+ passes per game are a formula for turnovers.

2. We won't be throwing that much.

Why are you ignoring these?

Chiefs QBs only threw 446 passes in 2011. Explain how Breaston catches 60+/800+. And no, Breaston isn't much better than Avery.

Yes he is.

I bet we throw it 600 times this year. Someone is going to have more catches

No, because...it's about Alex Smith.

I have no idea why anyone would bring up Steve Breaston and Matt Cassel in a debate about Alex Smith and Donnie Avery.

There's absolutely no logic there. None whatsoever. Two completely unrelated QBs and WRs in every way.

And it's not "dumb" to think Andrew Luck is better than Alex Smith. It's fact.

I'd be shocked if we threw it 40 times a game.

More proof that you are absolutely ****ing clueless about the game of football.

Hey, why aren't you throwing out your PFF Stats? Is it maybe because they're absolutely worthless to your argument?

Phony.

I doubt it. Peyton didn't even throw it 600 times last season.

Because you said the Chiefs weren't throwing it 650 times. I'm try to show you that it is not necessary.

Breaston has 4 seasons with over 700 yards receiving, including a 1k yard year. Avery has 1. Breaston has a higher ypc with nearly 100 more receptions. Avery does have more TDs, although I wouldn't call either a scoring machine.

Historically-speaking, I would say the advantage goes pretty clearly to Breaston.

Whether his knee's healthy now is another issue, but the question was whether Breaston in 2011 was a better player than Avery would project to be 2013. I'd say probably.

.

Since you asked, PFF wasn't very impressed with Avery. He had a lot of garbage yards, evidently. He's not much of a playmaker. He had a very poor catch rate and dropped a lot of passes.

His numbers are definitely going down with an inferior QB throwing the ball.
