I'm super ok with Mondesi for Ross and Upton. Super ok. Hell, talk them into giving us one of their 100-150 prospects as well.

And you're basing this on what?

If anything, the odds of Mondesi being moved today just went way down. The A's set the market very low.

If the No. 3 SP on the market (Price, Cueto, Kazmir) just netted a pair of A-ball prospects, one of whom is a pop-up/ fringe top 100 type, Cueto and Price costs just went down.

Mondesi gets moved only if the Royals are making a move for multiple parts (SP and a hitter).

Considering the way Rios has hit recently, I think the Royals' interest in acquiring an OF piece has cooled a lot.

Yeah, this trade today reinforced the recent rumors from the media that this has shifted into a buyer's market. I know Cueto is probably worth more than Kazmir, but still, I figure the price is either 2 or 3 scratch-off lottery tickets (with possibly a lottery ticket coming back) or 1 good prospect in the #90-110 range.

I was starting to think I was the only one who noticed that Rios has had a very good July offensively. His batting average is now higher than Perez's. Almost every other Royal's starter's average has gone down in July. Also, Dyson is hitting the ball well against RHP.

There is zero chance we trade for Samardzija.

I like what I've seen from Rios. Dyson/Orlando can hold down left until Gordo is back. SP should remain highest need.

That's fine, but royals fan hates rios and infante. Just the way it is. Both should be dfa'd or something.

Infante sucks still but if they didn't give Colon a shot earlier, no one is getting a chance at 2b.
