It's funny how Iowa State fans actually consider those victories for them last year. I realize you guys are new to caring about basketball but guess what some times the calls don't go your way. Elijah Johnson beat your team, not the refs. Truth hurts.
KU might lose this game tonight, and they might win. But either way the Iowa State fanbase will be a bunch of booing overly emotional clowns and Melvin will be the guy you didn't ban from the games like you should have. |

I'll agree with you for the most part, Hoiberg is good for ISU and ISU looks pretty legit so far, but ISU is a long way from being an elite program. All in all though, the Big 12 is better if the teams are good. It may leave some worthy teams out of the dance that are towards the middle of the pack in te conference but the top teams have a better chance to do something if they've been in dogfights all year. |
My favorite part of the Iowa State fan narrative is how KU isn't "classy".
Really, Iowa State? Really? I like how you throw garbage at players and then turn around and say they aren't classy because of a dunk. Eat shit and die, state of Iowa. Nobody likes you. |

Then tweeting out that EJ is a racial slur and saying he's going to shoot up the bus. I know there are bad seeds in every fanbase, but come the **** on. Tweeting racial slurs and shooting up the bus? And trying to punch Self? WTF? |

Here's an interesting read on Hoiberg. I'd say he's one of the two best coachrd on the conference.

I just did the same thing. I'd forgotten all about that fantastic '**** you' dunk at the end. Loved it. |

I'll admit I had a hearty chuckle when they panned to Hoiberg's kid bawling it out in his mom's arms.
Man, I really want to put it on these Clone ****s tonight and drink from a river of tears. |

I'm sure those tears were delicious for you; considering those were all clearly ISU victories.
LMAO |

On a related note, KU winning tonight at ISU would be an upset. |

ISU also plays at the quickest tempo in the B12 and one of the quickest in the NCAA, which I rather like (and not only because it makes for better basketball viewing). When you're a good team like 2014 ISU is, it's beneficial to get as many possessions as possible. |

I'm sorry did a person living in IOWA just laugh at us for having to still live in Kansas? Did I read that right?

This guy is taking an unofficial tonight. 6'9" and shooting 46% from three point. Type of mismatch Fred loves to have. |

FWIW, I went to ISU my freshman year in college. I then transferred to KU do to a change in majors. No ill feelings towards ISU. If I would stayed in my major, I would have probably finished at ISU. I had a great time...probably a little too much fun. That said, KU >>>>>> ISU.

3 Sweet 16s. Ever. I had no idea how bad their history was. Since Larry came in 1984 we have averaged 28 wins per year over that thirty year period. Iowa State has won 28 or more.....once. Ever. |
You know you have no base for any smack talk when you bring up "living in Kansas" and you live in ****ing Iowa.
LMAO |
That 2011-2012 season was pretty awesome really. We certainly didn't have our usual level of ridiculous talent (at least compared to the 2008 NC team, the Sherron/Cole/X/Morrises/Tyshawn 2010 team, or even this year with the likely top two picks in the 2014 draft). But Tyshawn and TRob basically willed that group to another B12 title (complete with the greatest sporting event I will likely ever see in person in the OT win over MU), with a subsequent run all the way to the final (where we admittedly and unsurprisingly ran into the buzzsaw that was Anthony Davis). I don't think they could have gotten any more out of that season than they did. We're seriously supposed to feel bad about that? LMAO

I watched some Louis CK a few weeks ago and this bit popped into my head the other day.... and it's pretty much what it feels like to be a Kansas basketball fan.
Posting pictures of someone crying at the NC game? Pffft, I'm a Kansas basketball fan, you can't even hurt my feelings. And of course the part about traveling into the future applies, too... heh. Replace "being white" with "Kansas basketball fan" and the alternative being an ISU fan. We can start the new thread with either making fun of the one ISU fan on the board or bitching about how we lost. It's a win/win situation. |
Great win tonight.
