Wow that was a lot more balanced by Scott Van Pelt on SportsCenter just now. I've always had a lot of respect for that guy and I was disappointed that he took Winston's side on his radio show without knowing the facts. But it literally might've been someone from here tweeting him that got him interested in learning actual truth. That's pretty cool.

Really!?! I tweeted him as a desperate attempt to teach SOMEONE in the national media to listen. I love thinking it might have worked.

Antonio Pierce retweeted my comment to him about how PHI players booed Irvin and Noah. That was after he had said he never saw anything like that happen in PHI. The problem is the semi-admissions that they may have jumped the gun do us no good. Oh well. Being the classy fans wasn't getting us anywhere anyway. They are talking about how we don't like Cassel. Its what we all dreamed of, even if it hasn't come in the form we would want.

Darn tootin'! Time to make lemonade out of... shitty quarterbacks.

I'm proud of Winston for sticking up for his QB

That is what an offensive linemen is supposed to do.

I'm sure there was cheering and I may have been guilty of it myself if I was there until I realized he what was happening.
Shit happens and people say and do things they regret.

But overall people react the way they really feel initially.

Sometimes you can be right and wrong at the same time.

You can say to yourself "I didn't cheer when Cassel was hurt, because I wasn't at the game". But the fact of the matter for me was, I did cheer all by myself at home while I was watching the game, then I felt bad when I realized what went down.

I don't know where I'm goiing with this so **** it.

“It might have been 7,000, might have been 700, but it was still too many,” Winston said. “I was directing those comments at a few people, and when I say a few people, I do mean a few people, because I don’t think it was the majority of people or even the vast minority of people.”

About goddam time Eric. Now simply apologize to the rest of the fan base or at least the other 69300 to 63000 of us who were there that you lumped in with a few morons.

Has there been much run with the audio that Channel 5 posted showing that there was not any real cheering going on??

Bob Dole 10-09-2012 06:01 AM

You can guarantee his "retraction" won't get a ****ing ounce of national attention.

BlackHelicopters 10-09-2012 06:04 AM

The Chiefs exude class from Hunt on down.

Nope. Even if he contacted every ESPN moron who ran with this, they would now ignore him and move on to the next manufactured drama du jour.

notorious 10-09-2012 06:04 AM

I am patiently waiting for every media douche apology.

siberian khatru 10-09-2012 06:05 AM

What really, really bugs me is that all these pricks have done is listened to and broadcast Winston's lockerroom performance. They haven't bothered to watch tape of the game and see the stadium APPLAUD when Cassel walks off the field.

One of the very first crawls on Good Morning America this morning was "Chiefs players blast fans for cheering concussion to QB"

Now its "players"...

ed* holy shit they're actually doing a story on it now

the Talking Can 10-09-2012 06:19 AM

Winston is dead to me. I await cheering the end of his career.

And where the **** is our GM?

We're 1-4, our QB is the worst in the league and has a concussion, our coach sucks, and one of our players slandered the entire ****ing city...

is it too much to ask for that arrogant failure to step up to a ****ing mic and answer some questions about the piece of shit team he is personally responsible for building?

That's a good point that Trent Green and that radio guy made. The Chiefs could issue a press release saying something to the effect that although a handful of fans might have done something deplorable, it shouldn't detract from all the great fans we have blah, blah, blah -- basically defuse the situation.

Instead Winston has become some national hero (people on Twitter saying "Eric Winston for president!") and KC has become Mordor. Would seem Pioli is quite happy to let the city and the fans take a national beating over this. Clark should step in.

**** that "retraction", the guy said he doesn't regret saying what he said. There was no apology in there. Even if you stand by what you said, an "I'm sorry my misconstrued statement caused a media backlash against the entire fanbase." No accountability for the shitstorm he caused, which pretty much reflects this team's M.O.

**** that guy.
