Lions fans would give up a testicle to get blown out by the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, let me tell you LMAO

It’s all about perspective.

Yep. I think it speaks to the hot take culture. The Super Bowl loser is instantly memed for whatever reason, almost as if it would be preferential to not even make it there; but that’s ignoring the fact that getting there is an accomplishment in itself.

It is 100% this. I can't tell you how many times I had kids (I'm a teacher) tell me after LV that the Chiefs "suck." It is the most public loss of the season so for some people it's the only time they see anyone lose a football game all year.

If the playoffs started today you'd have a Joe Flacco Browns offense, rookie Stroud with no playoff experience, Gardner Minshew Colts, Jags who are overrated as hell, the Dolphins who get anally raped by teams that aren't bad and the Ravens.

The AFC has never been weaker than this year. I cannot remember a year when it was this weak.

Plus we (especially Mahomes) always take it up quite a few notches for the playoffs, while teams like the Ravens tend to play worse.

No. Mahomes in a winner take all game? I like those odds even if they are an obviously better team.

That seems to be what people are missing in the big picture. Are the Chiefs having a down year by their standards? Sure, but so is everybody else. This thing is completely wide open. If they get their shit together it could be the easiest playoff run of the entire Mahomes era. There is absolutely no truly scary team out there, especially if we get the #1 seed and they have to come to Arrowhead.

That’s true.

Get the 1 seed and be mostly healthy. That’s all you can ask for.

Sure the 49ers look great, but better teams have failed to win or even make the Super Bowl. I honestly don’t care about the NFC. Let’s get to the Bowl first.

Who knows what happens from there? It’s one game. Weird shit happens.

like you get an interception thst clinched your first SB in 50 years and some dumb shit lineman lines up offsides.

Texans become the 7 seed tonight

playoffs get harder

If I could change one play in NFL history…

Brady goes from “finds a way to win” to “throws his third pick to blow a lead in the AFCCG”.

Could the Texans eliminate Baltimore as the 2 seed?

That'd get you Texans @ Chiefs.

crayzkirk 12-08-2023 06:41 AM

Texans are dangerous; been drafting high enough to get a lot of skill players that are on the cheap. If I recall, the Chiefs snuck out a win against that team last year when they didn't have a young QB who slings the ball around a lot like one here in KC.

RaidersOftheCellar 12-08-2023 06:43 AM

Playoff Mahomes ain't losing to the freaking Texans in Arrowhead...

While that would be nice, mine would be stenarud making the xmas day fg and beating the undefeated dolphins. And I was barely born.

The Dolphins did not go undefeated that season.

That one is tempting, though a big issue is that it came before we actually won any Super Bowls.

Like, there is a shitty alternate universe where we win that AFCCG but don’t win any Super Bowls over the next 5 years. I know that’s not super likely given how great our squad was in 2019 and 2020, but still..

Are you shitting me? You'd choose that over wiping away a Lombardi from Brady and potentially adding one for Mahomes? Plus it's Brady.

Preferring to win that old Dolphins game over the 2018 AFC championship game is just unfathomable to me.
