Some context:
I made this post at the Turdalition shortly after the New England game this year. Until tonight, I had completely and utterly forgotten it. A day or two before, we were discussing Quarterbacks. I hypothesized that if we were to get a new QB in the face of a Croyle disaster, it would be better to try and find another teams somewhat proven backup( ala Gannon )as opposed to drafting a rookie. Proclamation: Ye shall now bear witness to the Greatest Self-Zing in the entire History of the Electronic Football Forum. Has it ever been matched? NO! Will it ever be topped? NO! ENJOY! I have no problems with this bump.

I hate this trade almost as much as the Jared Allen trade

Way to rub that sea salt into the gaping wound of a vagina that is Matty Cassel

If he were still with the Chiefs last offseason, I imagine that he would have thought hard about Sanchez. Since then, Clark has a three time Super Bowl winning GM, who has hired two three time Super Bowl winning coordinators, and a head coach that has been to the Super Bowl. I expect him to consider their advice above reproach. |

i'm not going back to read this whole thread but i'll just say this:
There was nothing at all wrong with trading a 2nd round pick for Cassel/Vrabel. It brought some experience, leadership and character to the transition period of changing the coaches etc. The problem was giving Cassel the huge contract before he had played a single down as a Chief. The problem was committing so wholeheartedly to cassel with no room for a backup plan. Trade for Cassel/Vrabel don't give him a new contract the 1st year draft a QB/acquire another QB/have a backup plan actually even giving the big contract is not a monumental mistake AS LONG as they draft a QB next year and cut bait with Cassel(assuming he continues to suck). next year Cassel is gone for Jake Locker(or whomever) next year Vrabel is gone for Studebaker if so then it was a decent enough return for a 2nd rounder all things considered. |
