Also how set are you on the 770? I've always liked these better

Plus you get three free games

You should go with a 760 and get that 4th gen i7 with the saved money, brah.

Tomshardware lists the 760 as best bang for the bug, IIRC.

760 may be best bang for your buck but its stupid not to get something BETTER if it fits in your budget.

Especially if you are building a gaming computer. You want the best GPU you can buy.

Yeah, gotta go with the 770 for me. Its got so many positive reviews and people just rave about it. I feel like this machine will do everything I want it to and then some.

I was also able to cut a few more things out and upgraded the CPU to the intel i5 4670k

Unless you are going to OC in the future its a wasted "upgrade."

The only difference is the k version is unlocked, otherwise they are the same CPU.

Indeed, I did some research and thats what I have concluded. If I'm going to be spending this much money on a gaming rig, I might as well get the best performance out of it as I possibly can.

At least wait for the Microcenter BF ads to come out. There will probably be some decent CPU/MB combos.

hometeam 11-25-2013 08:21 AM

Yep, no reason to pay more for a K if your not going to OC.

If you do plan on ocing, you MUST get a K.

Acer is nicer

jd1020 11-26-2013 02:25 AM

Pretty much the same monitors.

I'm sure there is probably a slight difference in colors and viewing angles but I doubt if you purchased one over the other you wouldnt be wishing you got the one you didnt buy.

But the Acer is getting more reviews, so...

I guess if you want to get picky, the Acer has a thinner bezel but it appears that the Samsung might swivel? Not sure on that one but its on a round stand, if it even matters, doesn't to me.

What ever you do spend the money on a good PSU, it's worth it.

Microcenter will have the i7 4770K for $250 with a couple decent MB bundles this weekend. More than likely they will have the standard $30-$40 combo discount on all compatible MB's.

Getting the Acer, the Samsung lost its deal discount
