LMAO Jenkins wasn't making the Niners. They could have had both if they weren't going to release Baldwin. #getaclue

Worst case is that he's actually worse than Baldwin, which he's been up to this point.

Meh. Baldwin had no place on the starting line the second Bowe wasn't traded.

sorry but I think this is stupid trade

What's stupid about it? He clearly wasn't going to work out here.

Speed isn't just about running fast straight ahead.

Jenkins is much quicker in and out of his cuts and can get into the intermediate zones better. If you have him run a drag route from the slot, for instance, he'll likely be able to get and keep his separation as he crosses the middle (with Smith hitting him on the rollout as he clears the interior linebacker).

Baldwin couldn't get that separation; the nickle CB could break right on him and stay with him all the way.

We can use his speed.

Eh - hope one mans trash is your treasure. Doesn't seem like a bad move for either team

Squatch 08-19-2013 10:25 AM

Are we now rid of his salary? I bet Jenkins is a little cheaper.

Exactly. He was going to be cut. Now we have another 1st round WR who if he doesn't work out either, no harm done.

Eh, thats entirely possible... but ya never know.

Sometimes the realization that your team thinks you suck and followed by a change of scenery is enough to wake a guy up.

We'll see, atleast he's got some quicks.

Yeah, well, as a positive guy, I defended this guy to the death. I said, he will come around, and well, he didn't. I don't mind the trade so much, but I think the 49ers got the upper hand in this one........

Once again, your inability to be right about anything...ever...makes me not too terribly broken up by this.

Yep, exactly.

It seems likely that Jenkins will be able to replace Baldwin's production. Or at least it's unlikely that he'll produce less.

all the initial signing bonuses and guaranteed money stay on the books of the original team. The rest doesn't matter much.

If Baldwin can't catch Matt Cassell/Alex Smith passes, I don't see how he's catching Kaep passes.
