Like eminem, they were just a voice for people who think life sucks.

Dirt McGirt lived a careless life (like many musicians) and he made some very poor decisions but, in my honest opinion, Return to the 36 Chambers is one of the best rap albums of the 90s

As far as wu and ODB it was nothing groundbreaking. Esp all the really good hip-hop and rap that was already out.

Thing is, it wasn't ground-breaking. Soundgarden had been around since the mid-eighties and had several albums out before anyone had even heard of Nirvana. They just didn't have a pretty-boy front man for the mass music-media to fall in love with, coupled with a song that was as marketable as "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

I'm not saying Nirvana sucks. They were a good band in an era of good bands. Cobain's death allows people to lament on what would have been, but it's all speculation. Even if he hadn't killed himself, I'm sure his music would have went the route of STP and turned to sour from too much drug-inspired crap.

And if they did, was it really for the good? I don't think so.

And yes, the only good new rock band in the last 15 years has been the Goo Goo Dolls. Give me some competition....

I recently perused the 4 albums that GnR made. I found about 10 songs that were worth a shit.

Nighttrain, Jungle and Paradise City are great though.

Jenson71 11-16-2004 05:32 PM

I have their first CD...

Meg Ryan huh? What's wrong with her? Meg Ryan and I go waay back.
