Oh, and on-topic, I can't stand ketchup on a fast food sandwich, but it gets on there sometimes anyway. They get 'em back.

I'm on my first vehicle that is an automatic, I miss the stick and would have gotten a 5 speed if I could have found one in the midwest.

I dont eat tomatoes on sandwiches, but do eat tomatoes on Taco Bell fare. I just never really taste them and picking them out became a real PITA.

I dont special order anything from these places. I figure it only sets me up for disappointment when they fail to get it right. It's not worth the time and effort over fast food fare.

Now, if we're talking about a 35 dollar NY Strip not cooked right--medium rare--then we're going to have to send it back.

I hope you enjoy spit in your food.

Adds to the flavor.

True, they can cook another one, however.

Wow. You're the true winner in that arrangement.

LOL...my "send back" ratio is probably less than 1%. It has to be pretty bad to get sent back.

I wouldnt trouble myself with a FF joint, though. I can think of much worse things than saliva--considering I was on the other side of that counter a mere 20 years ago.

Katipan 02-22-2006 11:39 AM

I don't think I'll be going to dinner with many of you.

SquirrellyBastard 02-22-2006 11:41 AM

I've never worked for a Fast Food chain, but I did work at Applebee's during college. Probably why I rarely eat out anymore.
The people who have never worked in food service have no idea.
oh, by the way, enjoy your next "dining out" meal!

I understand.

In order to enjoy a meal out, I have to ignore what I've seen in kitchens.

That's never happened to me before. I was merely pointing out that I'd be more inclined to get my order 'right' at a place that was a little more upscale than a Taco Bell.

I think the problem here stems from the Mexicans working in the joints. When we English speaking people say, NO ketchup, they here "ketchup" and think HE WANTS Ketchup.

Somehow "no ketchup" gets herd as "wanno ketchup" or something like that. The main thing, is that they don't understand a word you are saying, other than the keywords, such as ketchup, mayo, onions, etc.

If they hear the word, they put it in.

Next time, try ordering the burger by saying, PLAIN, with(######,#####,#####, on it)

Unfortunately, the fast food clerks that I deal with here don't even have that as an excuse. There aren't any Mexicans behind the counters. They're all working in the chicken plants downstate.

Katipan 02-22-2006 12:01 PM

Yeah I'm sure those Spanish speaking Mexicans have a hard time understanding the word "no"

Clint in Wichita 02-22-2006 12:02 PM

I don't see how a Taco Bell order can be wrong.

How can a turd wrapped in paper be incorrect? Not enough peanuts? Too many tomato skins?
