I disagree. I think you sack up and approach Dad yourself. Getting in a non-work situation sounds EASY here, so the only hurdle to get over is actually saying it. I'd go with something like:

"While we were in Mexico I got to spend some time with {Insert Daughter's name here} and I really began to develop feelings for her. I'd like to see where that goes. What do you think?"

That gives the dad the option to say "the f**k you do" and now you have your options. Job or girl.

Sounds like she's been after the Duck longer than he knows, though. There can be no way daddy doesn't know.
