I do too. There is something awfully gone wrong when your Cover 2 "soft middle/bend-but-don't-break" _efense gives up 200 rushing yards every week, including generous allowances for unheard of back up RBs.

Well when you play zone with no pass rush, you get killed.

But when I was in Tampa we played cover two. it worked there with me.-Herm Edwards
According to Herm's logic you're wrong.

Just to avoid the Pennington pile-on, WTF game is Athan watching where Dujuan Morgan should replace anybody? The Panthers biggest pass play, not to mention the play where Steve Smith was wide open for a TD and they missed, were both caused because Morgan came in and blew the coverage.

Which, fine, he is a rookie after all. He will learn. But for Athan to make that statement would suggest that Morgan was out there being a playmaker. I guess he was, it was just for the Panthers.

WPI will never be taken seriously with this dweeb at the controls. Which is a shame because I like Wendler and Ash.

I'm not in favor of Morgan starting yet, but look at this video of Jarad Page whiffing. Pretty bad stuff. (FF to 1:25)

Sure-Oz 10-05-2008 11:45 PM

Page was pretty pathetic, the angles our safeties take are ridiculous....

At what point does Herm/Gun say to heck with Tampa 2? We just do not have the horses to run that scheme.

Not to defend his overall play, but if I remember from the backside angle they showed, Page just slipped and fell on that one. But either way, Page isnt even the one Athan said he should replace, he said Pollard. I dont remember Pollard screwing anything up today.

I couldn't tell if he slipped or not from the camera angle. What appears to be happening is the Carolina runner stiff arms Page as he whiffs miserably and then a pile picker just obliterates Page at the end of the play.

Just to mention it, Page did have a pretty nice INT. It wasn't all slips and pratfalls.

Quesadilla Joe 10-06-2008 12:24 AM

Why couldn't the Chiefs just lay down and play dead when they played us?
