Did you sit up and take notice of LJ yesterday?

He broke a 69 yard run, but ran out of gas at about the five yard line and was tackled. I took notice of THAT.

Actually if you listened to the announcers they noted that he pulled away from one guy, but McGee is a speedster who was finally able to catch him. I didn't see him run out of gas, he just got caught by a faster player.

He also had a 26 yarder called back on a bogus holding call. 7 carries for over 85 yards.

The old LJ would've taken that run all the way in, he's lost some burst after that 400 carry season but Mcgee is damn fast

LJ would never have run that ball in. I'm actually surprised he got as far as he did. Seemed to put on a burst to get away from defenders at first. He just got caught by a FAST guy.

When LJ and Priest were doing their thing he had a burst every damn time he ran, now he waits and uhhh waits and yesterday was the first time he have seen him run like that. Of course we had the ultimate line to make things easy too then

I agree... he seems to hesitate now where before he would "just run".

That said...

At no point in his career would he have run that in.

The only physical thing you can accuse LJ of missing is breakaway speed.

When he breaks a run, I don't think...

"Is he gonna make it in?!"

I think...

"Where is he gonna get caught?!"

I think what you are seeing is that LJ tried to learn from Priest and patiently wait for hole to develop. It's made him a better back, but it's hard to see it some times because the hole never develops. He did a good job of cutting back yesterday.
