Is that seriously the amount of money we're talking about here? If so, the guy is a Grade A asshole, no ands, ifs or buts about it.

That's what it was a few months ago when we went.

True, but he should have given his son money also IMO. Also if he has a problem with the guy he should take up with him. To take it out on the other guys kid is pretty chickenshit IMO

I'm not a father so I could be wrong, but I can see how it'd be easy to forget to remember to give your son money if he comes home all excited and in a hurry and runs and grabs his glove and takes off.

If I was the other guy and had no intention on paying for someone else, I'd either not invite them or tell them to run home and get some money. If he came back with no money, I'm buying.

When I was a kid, I usually had money and would offer to pay for stuff but my bestfriends parents wouldn't hear of it and always payed my way. My mom did the same for him.

The real question of the story is: Who let you procreate with them??

I totally agree with your post and maybe he did not have a chance to give his son money. I agree the guy sounds like a total asshole. I do disagree with the OP thinking of ways to get even with the asshole by treating the guys son badly. That is ptetty chickenshit IMO I would ask the guy why he let his son bat and not my son. I would have told him I would have been more than happy to have paid him back. I would have told the "dad" about my displeasure with his behavior. The thought of treating his son badly to get even would never even cross my mind.

That is pretty crappy.

stevieray 06-06-2009 03:02 PM

he could've treated, since he invited, and you could've given him money at least for snacks and soda, if not enough to pay for an extra round of swings ..

ieither way, it's still crappy.

StcChief 06-06-2009 03:06 PM

he's either just ignorant or went with little cash.

I took them to the batting cages yesterday... my seven year old hit or foul tipped 32 out of 40 pitches. The neighborhood kid hit 5 out of 40 and is eleven. SO, it is clear that his kid needed the practice more than mine.

But, come to find out... the 11 year old hit $7.00 worth or 140 baseballs, while my kid stood and watched...

And he ran in and said, Harrison's dad asked if I could go to the batting cages with them... they are ready to go, is it ok? I said, sure... and he ran out the door, without thinking of giving him a couple bucks.

I SHOULD have given him a couple bucks, but it happened so fast that I didn't think to... AND he let his kid bat 7 times... and my kid had to watch... that is shitty, IMO.

Heh. Yeah, I counted how many they each hit. But, in my defense, I work with my kid a lot of his baseball skills. I rarely see him working with his son.

And thanks for the laughs, Claythan!

I'd feel the same way if it happened to my son, especially over what amounted to a few bucks.

Mecca 06-06-2009 03:46 PM

You should hit baseballs at the kids dad.
