I could never get into any of those Sim games.

thecoffeeguy 12-21-2010 03:15 PM

what has everyone bought so far?
Some good games, but nothing that has really jumped out at me.
I picked up Prince of Persia: Warrior Within for $2.49

Hoping for me.

Hoping Dead Rising 2 goes on sale for dirt cheap. I want some good zombie carnage. Also, the Death Spank games look pretty interesting.

Any other suggested games?

I did pick up Battlefield Vietnam. All I can say is WOW. It is awesome!

I played it for about an hour last night and was pretty impressed with the exception of the flame thrower and the one map where the earth looks like it's just been napalmed.

Flame thrower: play on 1920x1200 dual 24" screens and can't see a thing when that thing is going off.
Mentioned Map: too big to be that flat, turns into a snipe fest

Also, seems that the grenade launcher isn't as powerful (they downsized the area of effect or power or both, not sure which yet) and there seems to be a cool down on spotting enemies. Again, not 100% sure if that's it but it's definitely not as easy.

I've been playing Tropico 3 today for the first time since I bought it during the Thanksgiving Sale. I think its an awesome game but I cant figure out how to turn a profit.

So, I am probably going to buy the Total War package today.
I currently own Empire: Total War and all the content. The package includes Empire: Total war and all the DLC as well as the Napolean: Total war and content.
Does anyone know if I can gift the new purchase of Empire: total war?

No, you can generally only do that with Valve games. It will tell you before you checkout if you can or not.

If anyone ever wants to play L4D2, BFBC2, Killing Floor, TF2, or CS:S online, let me know.
