Rumor has it that our entire LB corp was on the block for a 7th, but we couldn't find any takers.

Steelers would have taken the deal if we threw in Ron Edwards, but that deal was too rich for Pioli so it was scuttled at the last minute.

No, it's really not.

If anyone other than Nick writes this, no one argues, because it was well known that Pioli was trying to get picks for any player he could.

You don't think that saying everyone is on the block and putting feelers out for values of your players is different than proactively offering a player for a set draft compensation?

Look over there:

Your avatar disproves your anti-Pioli agenda claim.

Apparently, Pioli disagrees.

See: Tyler, Tank.

That must not be totally true because the rookie head coach doubled the win total in 1 season. So that must mean Haley is a good headcoach?

A year ago, there's no way we would have traded Charles, as we had just drafted him.

When people like Glazer, among others report that the entire roster sans Cassel is on the trade block leading up to the deadline, it makes it more than believable.

THIS!! Everyone was on the trading block. Then LJ spouted his BS, JC became numero uno on the depth chart in October. JC no longer on the trading block.

That's because, as much as everyone wants to tell you how brilliant they are, a lot of this stuff comes down to flat luck. Including sometimes, the trades you don't make. They may have very well tried to trade Charles. But the reality, the reality... is they didn't, and it worked out. There are probably a lot more important things to complain about. But you and I aren't trying to sell "inside info" at $100 a pop.

Titty Meat 01-04-2010 12:53 AM

For those who say the article is true you still haven't posted any sources. Saying everyone is on the trade block isn't the same as saying Charles was offered for a 5th round pick.

Who's to say those "feelers" didn't lead to more substantive compensation discussion?

Again, I'll use Tank Tyler as an example.

There's a section of truth to that. But I'm questioning ANYBODY who writes that the Chiefs were ready to take a 5th round pick for Charles. I question anybody who says the Redskins passed that up.

'Hamas' Jenkins 01-04-2010 12:54 AM

Charles’ big day almost didn’t happen. Before the trade deadline in October, Chiefs’ general manager Scott Pioli offered Charles to the Redskins for a paltry fifth-round pick. But Washington GM Vinny Cerrato felt that was too high a price to pay for a backup running back. That might be why Cerrato was fired last month.

Scott Pioli should wake up with a ****ing pink slip in his office.

:shake:

Jesus, this dumb **** wouldn't know talent if it was raping his mom in the ass while strangling his first born child.

Mecca 01-04-2010 12:54 AM

If Bledsoe never gets hurt we aren't discussing Tom Brady or Bill Belichick being a great coach today.

Remember, not only did the Chiefs deactivate Charles, they deactivated him for DANTRELL SAVAGE. He got like 10 touches in that Raiders game.

Those guys had proven their worth. They weren't.

Charles has just now been given opportunities. He was never an awful player. Apples and oranges.

Well, I'm not sure, but then again, I'm not saying that "I have no doubt in my mind" that this did or didn't happen.

Wow 1 game at the begining of the year with a new regime who basically said this year was nothing more than a tryout.
