My take...probably no better/worse than alcohol and tobacco. Ironically, due to illegality of it we haven't studied it as much as we need to, probably. But common sense tells us, given it's effects and properties...it's in the same ballpark. And while I am reluctant to concede another "problem" along the same lines, it's probably a "lost" fight.

I've embraced the late William F. Buckley's position...the cost-benefit rationale of prohibition is no longer reasonable and rationale, therefore legalize and regulate the shit out of it. Oh yeah, and tax the crap out of it too. Like it or not, it probably deserves a place alongside alcohol and tobacco as taboo, but legal, substance that people choose to use...and could really end up fugging up their own lives--if that's what they choose, then that's their problem. .

Has it helped or hurt artists over the years?

Sure, it costs the states gobs of money to go after criminals, but prisons are also machines of $$$

Do you know anything about the economy? There is no such thing as "creating" jobs.

I smoke two joints in the morning. I smoke two joints at night.
I smoke two joints in the afternoon, it makes me feel alright
I smoke two joints a dime a piece, and two the time before
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints, and then I smoke two more

legalizing isnt an option, it sounds good but the reality is it makes the states too much money in arrests and probations, also you think if it were legal it would get any cheaper? hell no if it were taxed i'd expect the price to at least double. you think ppl would quit, hell no they wont, look at cigarettes they tax the shit out of those things but ppl still smoke a pack a day, leave the system alone, dont wage a war on it, just accept it for what it is, an illegal plant

That is why you legalize it.
Sin tax
Smoker's tax $$ collected comes in handy for the govt. State and fed tax as it should be.
But you save 2 ways with pot.
1 you are collecting sin tax for what people are going to do anyways
2 money saved from law enforcement.
Treat it like alcohol. Public intox laws etc..
3 Take away exposure to drug dealers

Not such a bad compromise on the war on drugs
Alcohol Pot...if 1 of the 2 doesn't work you have issues

I have really liked Sublime a lot over the years...a truly "genuine" band. Fun, and cool, aren't common.

No but it makes you productive at work so that's why companies don't care if you ingest it on the job.

About 3% if you use paypal

smoking marijuana doesn't bother me unless you have a job of severe importance, like a doctor or a pilot. i would not want my doctor or the pilot of the plane i'm on to be high, which is why i don't think it should be legalized. if you do it in your home or with others and do it responsibly enough, then by all means...

Pretty much this. I have never done it, and don't plan on doing it, but that's my choice. But I recognize that this is America, and what you do in your home isn't any of my ****ing business, so do as you please.

Why should I feel like a 2nd class citizen, criminal over smoking pot? I'm educated. I pay my taxes. I'm a responsible adult. Who cares what I do in the privacy of my own home?

Everyone talks about this isn't fair, and that isn't fair, but nobody really cares about what isn't fair unless it isn't fair to them. Ya dig?

The comparison of pot vs. alcohol goes way back. But it's a fact that pot is much, much better for you than alcohol is. It's hypocritical. I feel like I'm being more responsible by smoking pot vs. drinking alcohol yet I could go to jail for it.

That's lunacy as far as I'm concerned. At least level the playing field and outlaw all of it. Otherwise leave me the **** alone.

it's all about the money man. Back with prohibition and when they let people have alcohol again, there was pot too. Every was prohibited, what made them decide that alcohol should be legal and pot not? What's easier to make? If it's easy to make yourself then people would spend less money on it. So companies probably paid the decision makers off and there ya go.

I'm pretty high right now, so this maybe just a random "high thought" but I do guarantee you it's about the money one way or another.

So a Doctor on the weekend in his own home could not toke the chronic?

the problem is -lets say... the doctor smokes some herb on Friday night - in his house not bothering anyone.. and then... on Monday goes and pulls a double shift... he is tired as a dog... not high mind you... but then goes and ****s something up - because he is tired not high - but they drug test him - he would get in trouble for being high while he fkd up whatever...

Can't speak for others, but the wife has literaly seen me go from unable to take 5-6 steps in a row without having my knees lock up, leaving me stumbling around walking like I got nutt sacked, to playing on the floor or running around the house playng tag, hide and go seek,"the scary monster is chasing us" runnnnnnnnnnnnn, with my son in a mater of a 10min trip to the shed.
You try strapping on a set of plaster stilts for 5-6 hours and sand out 10,000 plus square feet of ceilings, and tell me if a "draw" don't take away the lower back pain you'll develope that night.
