THIS!!!

If we become 2-8 and Jones is STILL getting majority of the carries, bitch then!

Do you really think the brass wants to keep their expensive shiney new toy in storage?

We are a running team (forced to by Cassel's lack of talent), it is a long season and there are going to plenty of carries to go around. Do I agree totally with JCs' use through two games? No. But, he will get his touches... It's a 16 game sked, soon to be 18, and this is how the NFL is built now... people run out two or three backs out there. They are still trying to figure out how to use Run DMC in this offense, but his touches are going to come from all over. This idea that JC will be as effective with 300 plus touches is totally unfounded... I can promise you, as the season wears on...and the 33 year-old Thomas Jones starts to wear down (did you see him at the end of the year with the jets?), JC will be getting more and more carries... and hopefully leading us in a playoff push.

Indeed. If we were winning by 3 TD's a game, and JC was getting 125 yards per game, the headline would read "Chiefs in danger of losing Charles to injury" followed by a bunch of drool about how we are using him too much.

I'm kinda glad I don't live in KC...

Hootie 09-21-2010 12:58 PM

no...

I bet he's worried that his "lack of touches" is because he's a player needing a new contract...

and he wants to go out and put up CJ numbers so he can get his $25M...

Hootie 09-21-2010 12:59 PM

RB's have a very small window to make their money...

Charles wants to make his money.

alpha_omega 09-21-2010 01:01 PM

Hopefully we are "losing" him so we can trade him for a QB of some sort.

Brock 09-21-2010 01:02 PM

Almost sounds like some LJ rubbed off on him, huh?

I think the biggest reason Charles has so few carries is because this offense can't sustain any type of drive.

I'm sure that has nothing to do with the best player on the team getting limited touches.

Just a thought but...It can be hard to spread out carries when we go 3-out almost every drive!

Pretty much. It would be nice to have a line to run behind.

Hootie 09-21-2010 01:04 PM

I am as mad about the lack of touches for Charles as anyone...

but Thomas Jones was great on Sunday if you ask me...

He ran very hard and he's a great player...

It probably has more to do with the worst player on the team air mailing passes. Let's call him "Drive Killer".

Although I do expect to see more screens at some point.
