Bad argument.

In 2010, the Chiefs took a safety with a top five pick, and in the second round we took a punt returner/slot receiver and a kick returner/nickel package defensive back.

Those are hardly considered high positional value slots for a team that was coming off a four win season with a lot of other needs at more "valuable" positions.

I'm with Milkman, one cannot find the word that properly describes what a ****in moron you are.

They also had bigger "needs" like generating a pass rush. Somewhat similar to KC.

Wow. What a great point to make in the discussion. You must have been the captain of your high school debate team.

You were the ****ing moron who said that the Jets had the luxury of picking a CB in the first round because they weren't in a rebuilding mode, thus had the capability of taking a guy on a BPA viewpoint versus need. (Or you implied that...you constantly fail to provide any detail in any of your posts. You do like to throw out a lot of personal insults and use smilies in almost every post though. Quality contributor.)

I simply pointed out that the Chiefs, who, coming off a four win season, should have been in a "rebuild" mode that usually consists of bettering the core positions such as offensive line, defensive line, linebackers, etc., instead went with positions that are usually considered luxury picks once you have built the team into a playoff contender, and based on that recent history, a cornerback or defensive end wouldn't necessarily be out of the realm of possibility.

So, besides being a world class idiot, you are also a ****ing moronic hypocrite. Go suck a dick you flaming asswart.

There was also a $$$ message being sent as I recall, similar to KC drafting LJ.

I don't think the Jets (or KC) put the value on pass rushers that we do. I'd actually be surprised to see us take one.

We drafted those positions because our GM is a colossal moron.

Awesome response.

A Boobies typical single sentence response followed by LMAO.

Insight, intelligence, introspection...

You are the best.

After the past two drafts, which not only ignored the strengths of the drafts and the weird ass picks themselves, but also cost us valuable picks in trading up for tight ends, as well as the stellar free agent acquisitions, I'm inclined to agree with you C.E.

So I had a new thought: what if we could move up in this draft on the cheap.

Consider, dareus or quinn could fall to 10. Or if gabbert somehow slipped out of the top 5. If I'm the chiefs, I think I try to swing up to7 to 10 where there is significant talent that works within our scheme. After 10, it really drop I think.

I think it would be more likely that they'd trade DOWN. I'm not entirely sure that the top tier is really 'top tier'. It kind of seems like a little bit weak at the top.

I don't know...

Von Miller is as good a pass rusher as there has been in the draft in recent years.

Pat Peterson is regarded as one of the best cornerback prospects ever. (And it's a very good and deep cornerback class.)

AJ Green and Julio Jones are elite level receivers.

The defensive ends and defensive tackles are incredibly deep and extremely good.

The guard class, led by Pouncey, Hudson and Wisniewski is deep and talented.

The five top offensive tackles (Solder, Costanzo, Carimi, Smith, Sherrod) are all very solid, experienced players with a high floor.

You've also got huge boom/bust guys in the quarterbacks with Newton, Gabbert, Locker and Mallet all being mentioned as having huge potential.

The nose tackle class is pretty nice as well.

The running backs, safeties and tight ends are relatively weak. However, the Chiefs have those positions covered.

The Chiefs, with the 21st pick can upgrade either offensive tackle spot, either defensive end position, the nose tackle, or add a solid receiver. They are going to have some nice options with that pick that will immediately benefit the team at a core position.

I think it's a pretty nice draft overall.
